First Induction Hob - Couldn't be happier!

    5/5
I previously had an electric ceramic hob as we live in an area without a local gas supply. It took an age to heat up and there was little immediate control when changing temperature. We decided to look at an induction hob based on a recommendation from a friend who works as a professional chef. We decided to opt for the IKE64450FB as it was the right power rating and also there was a bridging function on each of the left and right induction areas. The power control is crisp and enables boiling pans to be brought to a simmer in a second or so. The "P" power/pulse setting is great at boosting the heating speed, and is especially useful to bring the pan unto the maximum temperature in a very short period of time. It's so good that I've stopped using the kettle to heat water to boil pasta. All you hear is a faint buzzing sound when you set the power on this "P" setting. The bridging function is especially useful when you have larger pans, for example when I'm cooking a family risotto, and it's simple to link the hobs with a simple touch of a button. The timer function is of limited value as I use a separate kitchen timer, but it works and I'm sure will be useful for some. The controls are easy to use and sensitive enough to change when needed. One of the great attractions to induction hobs is the fact they don't retain the excess heat when you remove the pan from the hob, which certainly gives me piece of mind when my young family is in the kitchen. Overall the IKE64450FB is a great hob and I would certainly recommend it for those looking at getting a new induction hob.

    Love it!

    5/5
Liked the old model very much and still have it and in everyday use but this has just got better. I really like the fast boil feature and now to get it to come to the boil and then automatically drop it to a lower setting means that I dont have to stand over it. Very useful for the timer function to count up as well as down but the big step is being able to link the zones and use irregular shaped pans. We really appreciated the difference when we moved to an Induction hob (apart from the pans!) but this has got even better and so easy to keep clean!

    Quality and Versatile

    5/5
This hob was easy to fit and has great options. It controls the power between each hob and you can join 2 hobs together to make 1 bigger ring for bigger pans. Also boils water very quickly on the power boost setting. Well worth the money.

    Great hob for small families.

Works well. Only downside it is limited to pans of 20cm. Larger ones need to cover 2 zones for bridge to be used but anything in between is not useable. Only use I can think of for the bridge is a fish kettle or a barbecue griddle.

What a great hobb don’t hesitate to buy one if your a gas only person these Hobbs have moved on since the days of the rubbish halogen Hobbs. Heats evenly and super fast if that’s what you want The hobb to hood fuction is brilliant as soon as you turn your hobb it will turn your cooker hood on for you Excellent build quality as expected from aeg So easily to clean as well what’s not to like about this really happy with this purchase. If the price worries you you get what you pay for I guess and this is worth it.

Great Hob - Great Looking, Easy to Install & Great Functionality

    5/5
After breaking a previous hob, we need to replace with a new one. We had just moved from ceramic to induction and we wanted to continue using induction, with two young children the advantage of lower residual heat is a great saftety advantage. The previous hob was part of a new kitchen as was an entry level induction hob, probably in the region of £300 when new. This hob was OK, it did the job but no more, heat was incosistent and the position of the large ring inconvinient. This lead us to wanting a flex zone hob, why have one of these when you can have two. The standard hob rings give no advantage over a flex zone - the flex zone can act as "standard" rings but also work together to give a larger heatin area. We have not fully utilised this feature yet but it will bear fruit in time Im sure. The heat produced in the pans is incredible, I was able to boil a large pot of potatoes on Christmas morning in less than 15 minutes, the Ham boiled just as fast The Boost (P) function is very useful as it gives you that extra power boost for boiling water. There is a 15 power levels available, this greater resolution (over the usual 10) in available power levels is great to hit that simmer point on pots without over-boiling. Each ring having its own timer function allows you to have more control and you reduce the chances of overboiling. The slide control for setting the power is a bit strange at first, but you can work without it as you can set power levels with a single press. The slide gives you better acurracy across the range of power levels. Installation was relatively easy - the instructions could be improved as it is somewhat unclear as it appears that its a two phase connection. This can be easily resolved however with bus bar or an appropriate link between the terminals. Overall this a great hob, and it looks really well. We dont miss the circular rings as the square flex zones look well on the counter top. Its subtle enough to not be noticed but it has also been a conversation piece when it is noticed by some.

    AEG INDUCTION HOB

    5/5
Compared to our previous Siemans hob this product is by far superior in several ways. Controls - The heat variations far exceeded our exspectations and can only be described as exceptional. Hob Pan Layout - being able to enlarge the pan areas over the unit allows you to place 2 x panps over the same area to enhance the controlability of the food being cooked. perfect product for the money paid
