This is the first washer dryer I've owned. My old washing machine was simple to use and I mainly used just one program that washed at 40°C and took about 40 minutes. This machine's programs are hours long even without drying (which I haven't used yet) so you have to plan when you've got enough time to do the washing. I would not chance leaving it running while I was out or overnight especially on a drying program as my friend's dryer caught on fire. There is a 30°C wash which takes 30 minutes but it wasn't good enough for some rather smelly items that really needed a higher temperature. There are too many programs and the instructions are not clear. I don't know how this machine compares to other washer dryers. Maybe they are all too complicated and take hours to wash anything. It unlocks and locks itself noisily whenever it moves to the next part of the program. My cats are scared of it. They were fine with my old washing machine. I've only used it twice and the second time it did a good job but took over two hours. I've only knocked one star off because it might turn out to be a good machine once I get used to it.

Very happy with the Hotpoint washer drier machine..mainly use the fast wash..good point is you can alter the spin speed.Lots of space in the 8kg drum..Have not used the drier as yet ..But overall its easy to use the machine.

As seems to be the way these days the instructions are a little tricky to get to grips with but love the machine itself so far. Lots of different programmes to choose from to get the right wash. Quiet and washing is pretty dry without using the drier function.

Great machine, not noisy and easy to use. I love the bedding & towel wash and dry setting - just pop it in overnight and things are dry in the morning!

It's early days but first month of useage has been fine. We'ver previously had a Hotppoint which lasted over 15 years and hence why we stick with the brand. Can also recommend AO as this is the first time we used them and teh service was fast and purchase was easy.

Great product at a great price. Very quiet when running. The timer seems a little out of sync but we've not properly tested it yet - it seems to carry out a 2.5 hour wash in about 2 hours.
