This is an infuriating dishwasher; if you have small plates and only drink from tea cups, it might be for you. If you have normal sized dinner plates and drink from highball tumblers, or have kids with endless water bottles, the VarioDrawer takes up far too much vertical space to wash both plates and glasses at the same time. You can lower it and wash your glasses, but then there’s no space for plates. Or you can raise it, and precariously balance tall glasses in the bottom, but then there’s no space for plates. The worst part is that it seems replacing this (otherwise superb) dishwasher means getting something much less well built than a Bosch, which is upsetting.

This dishwasher is so much quieter than the last one we had, which was 15 years old and part of the house we moved into. It feels like a quality product and it washes everything we've thrown at it so far without any issues. The light interface which projects on the floor is actually really useful to let you know when the wash will be finished without having to check by opening the door. The app also works well and it will notify us when the wash is done. The top shelf is mostly for utensils and it can load a lot in, but you can also place spatulas in there easily enough. We tried placing wine glasses in the bottom or middle shelf and they didn't fit too well, so we'll be continuing to wash them by hand. But these are larger than average glasses so perhaps to be expected. There are some potential space issues if you have plates larger than 27" or so. We tried putting some 28" plates in the bottom shelf and although they do fit, it was an awkward fit and it stopped the spinning sprayer from moving. This isn't a big issue for us since we generally use plates smaller than 28", and you can easily replace the spinning sprayer for a static one (which comes with the dishwasher) if necessary. The sprayer won't break even if it's stopped from moving during the wash. All in all we're very pleased with this product.

With this model, Bosch have provided a seperate draw for curlery. That means there is no longer enough space for plates on the bottom draw and pint glasses on the middle draw, at the same time. Hence you need to adjust the position of the middle shelf each time you use the dishwasher, so can washing plates only in 1 wash and and pint glasses in seperate a wash. I have had the dishwasher for only 1 month and the height adjust mechanism for the middle shelf is already beginning to play up. The shelves have to many prongs etc, which makes it difficult to fit stuff in. Hence it always seems to be half full when I cant fit any more items in.

It took a bit of getting used to the configuration, which was quite different to the dishwasher it replaced, but we love it now. We keep finding all these extra features, like fold-down racks that allow you to change what you put where. The separate cutlery shelf is fabulous and frees up so much space on the bottom drawer in addition to leaving everything sparkling. The few drinking glasses that we wash on the top tray all come out beautifully smear free. All the wash cycles are incredibly quiet and it's really handy to have the time remaining reflected onto the floor. As if that isn't enough, it's very Smart dishwasher and can be controlled from my phone! If only they could invent one that empties it once completed....

Great washer, but be careful, it's much deeper than others. Wouldnt fit under our kitchen counter. We had to build laundry room to fit the thing :O

No reason to think this is a bad product, per se, but be warned there is a maximum height, which is, from memory, around 86cm. This was not clear on the online spec. As a result, post fitting, we had to arrange an exchange for a model more suited to a taller space. AO dealt very well with this, but obviously better to avoid the issue in the first place, hence the warning!

Great dishwasher in terms of getting pots clean. My only gripe is that the rail for the cutlery drawer is below the actual drawer so tall glasses or cups that are loaded to the sides of the top drawer knock into them when opening or closing either the cutlery drawer or the top drawer and then the glasses can fall over. I don't really see the point of the app control, it's not as if I can tell the app to load/unload the thing for me so pressing the button to make it start is no hardship!

This is the second Bosch dishwasher that I have bought. I particularly like the Home Connect feature which was easy to set up. The end of cycle time projection is also very useful. I felt it was missing a good short programme for dishes that are not very dirty and downloaded one as a favourite. It works really well and gives a good, fast alternative. Delivery and installation were excellent.
