    Poor quality

    2/5
Having had a Stoves oven for the last 16 years we decided to get another one as our first one gave up the ghost. Expecting it to be as good quality as the last one we where very disappointed, the handles had very sharp edges and got so hot you had to use gloves to open the doors, the grill pan supplied also had sharp edges, the oven settings are underneath the knobs so you have to get under them to set the temperature. Overall not a lot of thought has gone into the design of this oven which is a great shame. After being extremely pleased with our first one I don’t think we will be buying another Stoves.

i do not like the large oven shelve runners that make getting the shelf in and out very jerky, would prefer these not to be there at all and just to have the shelves left plain. There seems to be a gap at the front through which heat escapes in both ovens, I have to cook everything at a higher temperature and for longer than in my poor old oven.

    Grill pan no handle

Good oven except went to use the grill pan there was no handle . Apparently the grill pan handle is classed as an accessory and you have to pay extra for it. THAT IS LIKE BUYING A CAR AND HAVING TO PAY EXTRA FOR THE STEERING WHEEL

Fantastic gas cooker let down by 2 minor flaws

    3/5
The Stoves SGB700PS is fabulous double oven. Unfortunately, there are two flaws that let it down from achieving a 5-star rating. These are: > Firstly, the grill pan does not come with a handle so it would appear that you have to purchase this separately, which is absurd because it should come as standard! > Lastly, there are runners on either side of the main oven wall which allow you to fix in place the removable shelves. Once fitted into the runners the idea is that the shelf can be pulled out of the oven to assist with the removal of a food dish. Unfortunately, the shelving units do not fit particularly well into the runners and subsequently detach themselves very easily. This isn't ideal especially when handling hot food / hot cooking dishes. As an alternative the detachable shelves can be fitted to the conventional shelf supports but why fit runners in the first place if they can't be used properly...?

    Disappointed

    3/5
We've had this oven just over a year now and compared to a freestanding Stoves cooker we had for many years it's quite a disappointment. We had problems lighting the bottom oven from the start and needless to say, when the Stoves man came to investigate it worked ok but is giving problems again so I am about to send for him again. As has been said in previous reviews, the telescopic shelving is quite restricting and because of the heat coming up the front, it makes it very hot to touch some parts. The light being on all the time seems a waste of energy and it goes off when you switch the oven off to take stuff out. Surely an on/off switch is a better solution. Also as mentioned in previos reviews, the switch indications could be clearer and the grill pan handle an extra, really? The top oven has given us no problems and overall when the bottom one lights, it works well and my wife says it's pretty.

    Disappointing

    3/5
I bought this cooker to replace a previous Stoves model that was 10 years old and beyond economic repair. The difference in build quality is striking. The current model is tinny with some sharp edges, cheaper less sleek oven handles and a tinny grill pan with no handle. Unlike the older version there is no means of telling when the ovens are up to temperature. The interior light does not come on when the grill is in use only when the top oven is on which is very annoying. The fixed sliding arms to hold the oven trays are fiddly to use. There is very limited choice for people who want a built under double gas oven (too difficult for us to install a 30 amp supply for an electric option). If there was any other choice for a built under double gas oven I would not have chosen this one.

Only built in gas oven available

Wish I had had more choice of gas ovens. Not as wide as my old oven, also don't like one setting for grill. Fan stays on long after oven switched off. Needs to be set higher to cook properly .
