Can't use oven without the grill element coming on.

    3/5
It is a good microwave with quite a few features. The only thing I don't like about it, is that you can't use the oven without the grill element coming on as well. Burns the top of the food if it isn't covered. I have read through the manual many times trying to find out how to use the oven without the grill coming on and it doesn't look like you can. If anyone has figured it out please let me know and I will amend this review.

Beautiful with very good results - sensor cooking is like magic

    5/5
The oven is beautiful having a black glass front panel finish. The electronic display is invisible until powered up. There are a lot of cooking methods and combinations and its good that there is a press and jog wheel to make cooking set up convenient. Times can be set in 5 second increments. 15 seconds is perfect for a mince pie. The results are just what you would want. There is a sensor cooking mode that analyses the cooking gasses to determine the cooking time and this has worked like magic. The turntable can be switched off so that large rectangular cooking containers can be used. I expect that proper "flatbed" ovens might give more even results. Turning the turntable off requires mid cook stirring. The manual lacks an index and that is significant because of the cooker's versatility. Some foods - like potatoes - can be cooked in a number of different ways (including that sensor "magic"). We found it best to download the PDF manual from Samsung. Then you can search it (say for "potato") and find the various methods available. It will probably be rewarding to read the manual carefully and try out a few examples before trying to cook anything. There is nothing that we do not like.

    Lasted 18 months!

    1/5
This product holds the record for the most unreliable electrical item I have purchased in years!. It's not cheap, and I assumed a brand such as Samsung would offer great reliability and great service - neither came through!. The switches on the front panel, in particular Start and Stop, began to be intermittent a couple of months ago. Now they hardly work. 18 months old and Samsung refuse to cover it under warranty. Also, be aware AO seem to state this has a 3 year warranty. Not quite correct - it's 1 year as standard. Strangely, the component I suspect to be at fault is probably (DE96-01040A) - perhaps a known issue? Shocking product - shocking service. My personal advice - go elsewhere.

    Surprisingly good

Cooked a chicken using convection, microwave & grill function combined in only 30 minutes - takes an hour & a half in a regular oven. Excellent.

    Ease of use

    4/5
Have not got used to it yet. Bit confusing. Used sensor for jacket potatoes but it was only the microwave. My last one did it on combination so have not Sussex that out yet. I'm sure with trial and error will get there.

    Good Combo microwave

    5/5
I've only had the appliance for a few weeks so just getting to know it. Microwave is simple to use once you get used to the dial to turn rather than buttons to press. Hot Blast Auto cooked chips and onion rings to perfection with no need to pre-heat a big oven that then keeps the kitchen hot for hours afterwards! I've used the dough proving setting and that seemed to work fine. Not used the conventional oven yet. Only downside so far, and it's a really minor thing is that the instructions could give more information. It wasn't clear whether the stands could be used in the microwave but the recipe for Hot Blast Auto says you can (it uses microwaves to cook as well). Looks good and I like the Eco button

    Junk stay clear

    1/5
Utter junk. Front panel switches have failed after 18 months of light use. Samsung repair agent Martin Dawes advise it's actually only covered by 12 months warranty and repair will be chargeable. It would also appears to be a known fault and they knew which spare to order in advance of inspection! Stay clear of this product. Should have stuck with Sharp that lasted 12 years!

    First impressions

    3/5
We have only had this microwave for a couple of weeks and haven't explored any of the options other than the basic microwave function yet. I do like the look of this appliance & like the functions it does offer. I like the ease of adjusting the timing +/- when heating. Definitely need to refer to the instruction book initially. It does seem to take a lot longer to heat things like mugs of milk for hot chocolate. I would say it takes twice the time than my old machine. The turntable is also a little 'juddery' when in turns.
