I read a lot of positive reviews about this vacuum cleaner and on the basis of this, and the fact I own 2 other AEG products (dishwasher and washing machine), I thought I was buying an excellent product. On a positive note, the suction is very good and can be adjusted depending on the surface but conversely, the suction is so strong and clamp like on the carpet, that it makes moving the brush-head difficult. Even lifting the brushes on the foot pedal to avoid "scraping" the carpet still does not improve the flow of movement across the carpet. I've tried reducing the suction but it makes no real difference. Also, when I've tried to vacuum up an obvious bit of fluff on the carpet, I can go over and over it and it frustratingly does not pick up. Looking at the brush-head, the wheels are very small and there is no rotating brush and I think this is the issue. My old vaccuum cleaner had bigger brush-head wheels and a rotating brush and it picked up everything. I'm really disappointed as the suction on this cleaner is superb, but it's just not good on carpets. I've hard-floor floors too and can say, it seems to work fine on them but with a house that is mostly carpeted, this has been an expensive mistake.

We bought this having read many reviews of this and other machines. We wanted a light weight yet powerful vacuum with a quality build that had a high standard of filtration for particals. Something for doing both hard and carpeted surfaces. Light enough to be carried upstairs as we are getting on in years. A modern design with a quality finish to the parts. Have owned more expensive quality machines in the past. Well we are not disappointed from the minute we unpacked it we were both empressed on the quality of the parts and simplicity of use. Along with its highly modern and contemporary design, it impressed on its powerful suction on all surfaces. It was easy to both assemble, use, empty, carry and small enough to store. Unlike some other machines it has a suction control on the machine and on the handle which allows for perfect control on whatever surface it is being used on. No fiddly parts and very easy removal and replacement of the dust canister. The filtration system is superb as I am susceptible to dust and this was also a prime consideration in its purchase we were not disappointed. This is a quality vacuum and value for money from a well known and trusted brand. We have no hesitation from recommending it scores a very impressive 11 out 10 . We can can find nothing negative about and gets the thumbs up from us as it makes a "clean sweep" of our vacuuming !

Very satisfied with this product, the suction is very strong so we have to keep it at the lowest settings when using it on our carpet floors, but it works well on any surface. Very light to lift and easy to move and empty, adjustable wand height for comfort of use, reaches well every corner of the house.

The cord is a bit short, which gives me no change to get to the top floor, even that the plug is just a few feet away from the stairs. Using it on carpets is a bit tricky and it seems like it doesn't get all dust away. E.g. it leaves tiny threads even though I'm trying to go over it multiple times. On the positive side it is much lighter than our previous vacuum cleaner from Hoover which was the typical "Stand-up" that I find so old-fashioned and extremely heavy to use.

So disappointed with the product. Did a lot of research and bought based on good reviews. Now 2 months on and the only advantage i can see is that it’s light. Suction is poor, we have hard floors and can still see lots left it hasn’t picked up . I have trapped my fingers twice now when adjusting the hose. The dusting tool is really poor and has a pivoting brush head which doesn’t stay in place. The cylinder is messy to empty and awkward to reassemble. Now part of the hinge has broken off it. AO have sent me back to the manufacturers as it’s 2 months old, but I’ve not had any response from them yet and it’s been over a week.

Very powerful vacuum cleaner, I had to turn the suction down so I could move the head along the carpets! Picks up pet hair no problem. Seems to be great value for money.

Really good quality for honest price

I'm only giving 4 stars cause it's difficult to operate the vacuum on the carpet. Somehow that brush it's not going smoothly on the carpet surface. But all in all it's a good vacuum cleaner, with good suction and easy container to empty
