Cycles take hours! No instruction manual

    1/5
Most of the programmes take hours to run, and I don't want to waste water and electricity in this way. The shortest cycles are: Silks & Delicates (55 mins) but this cycle doesn't spin; or Express Wash & Dry (30 mins), but 5 mins of this is used for tumble drying which is not required in the summer and leaves the laundry damp anyway. There is no user manual. I was left with a "Quick Guide" comprising of 4 pages with no real instructions on how to actually use the machine. I had to call Indesit and a helpful young woman talked me through the programmes. We worked out together that the only programmes I can actually use are the two I named above. The digital displays are confusing – they use a series of numbers and letters that don't mean anything. You have to look them up in the so-called quick guide, which (ironically) isn't quick at all! The tumble dryer is very difficult to work out. The woman from Indesit told me which buttons to press in order to just use just the dryer. Again, no instructions are given in the "quick" guide. Although it washes my laundry OK, I'm very disappointed with the machine overall. It has all these cycles which I won't be using (because of their duration), and figuring out how to use it has been extremely stressful. They've made a simple concept incredibly complicated. What a waste of time – on so many levels.

Awful machine, drying times far too long.

Awful washing machine, takes minimum of 6 hours to wash and dry. Indesit customer services are unhelpful. the machine all of a sudden turned of mid cycle, and no help whatsoever from Indesit . not the quietest machine. Also consumes alot of electric when ran.

    Awful experience, avoid like COVID!

Awful product ! The installation was not tested, resulted in a leak, engineers were impossible to get hold of, eventually returned, they said the appliance was cracked underneath so a replacement could be delivered the next day. AO C/S advised the installation fee would be removed as comp. but when the new machine arrived, it was just dumped it at the property. AO c/s removed the fee & didnt put a comp one on. I called to the engineer, he was rude and said "no you need to pay" and then ignored all calls. AO c/s were no help! said they would try to get someone out but it wouldnt be that day, but if we got a plumber to instal they would reimburse us, so it was left for me to arrange.

So the machine itself is fine. Like most washer driers it is best when you do a separate wash and the dry cycle, if you try to use the function that does one then the other the clothes are still soaking. However, used separately, each function is fine, if a bit slow. Also be aware that any ao.com purchase appears to be followed up by a couple of calls from people telling you how rubbish the product is, how likely it is to break and that you'd better buy the monthly warranty because you are so likely to need it!

    Not great.

Not great. Impossible to get anything dry in it unless you have it running for 12 hours. I suppose you get what you pay for and it was a cheaper option.

You get what you pay for

OK the price is good, but I suppose you get what you pay for. V basic machine which has the benefit of you not having to struggle with multiple wash/dry options and many buttons. There is simple a dial that you turn and an on/off button. So far , so good. But, unless I am missing something, only one of the programmes seems to wash and dry. Otherwise you have to do a wash then reset the machine to a dry cycle which is rather irritating. Also the express wash/dry cycle leaves clothes still damp -not quite the point of having a washer drier. On balance, probably better to pay a bit more for a better machine.

    Wouldn't recommend

Terribly disappointed with this washer/drier. I haven't bought a new machine for over 15 years and if this is 'progress' I am amazed. I don't have 4 hours to wait for my whites to be washed, the instructions are very difficult to understand and Indesit aren't interested in helping. The drier is absolutely useless (I have owned washer /driers for many years so I know what to expect) I really wish I had brought my old machine with me when I moved house rather than opting for a shiny new one and to make matters worse this is now about £70 cheaper than I paid just before Christmas.
