The hob works great - very fast, easy to control. Just what you expect from an induction hob. The problem is that it is a fragile thing. Despite being very careful we had some light scratching on the surface within a week of use. Also the corners are a weak point. Again within a week one of ours has chipped - don’t know how this happened, didn’t drop anything on it. We are not overly rough! We had a ceramic hob previously for 4 years and that had one scratch on at the end of that period.

Loud when on full power but really quick to heat up pans. Major disappointment is how easily it scratches though.

The hob works well and I have no complaints. I tested some of the functions that others mentioned didn’t work for them, such as the one that stops the pot from boiling over, and they all worked. The design, placement and features of the controls could be better. It takes up far more space than is really necessary and there’s no one-touch way to joining two zones together for larger pots/pans. I don’t have an AEG extractor hood so I cannot comment on the feature to control that with the hob.

Positives: - The sense boil function is really clever, very fast, and generally works really well (though it can struggle if you don't put enough water in) - the Hob2Hood function is very convenient - most of the time I never touch my extractor as the hob turns it on automatically (occasionally it's temperamental but works correctly 90% of the time) Cons: - you do need to polish with a microfibre cloth after wiping down or you have lots of smear marks!

The hob is great, looks great and was easy to fit. As expected things heat very quickly. The only negative is it’s quite noisy on the power boost setting but you don’t use this for long so not a big deal. It is quiet on other settings and doesn’t click like others I’ve used.

We've only had this induction hob for a week, so it's early days. Nonetheless, it is able to bring a large pan of water to the boil very quickly indeed, which is great for preparing potatoes or pasta, as it the boil-sense feature, even though it doesn't work with cast iron pans. Furthermore the control of this hob is instant, which makes it very easy to set a simmer temperature and allows you to leave the lid on the pot thereby reducing energy consumption. The lower temperature settings are very granular so making sauces or even melting chocolate is very easy: no need for a bain marie! Perhaps it's greatest feature is the direct access control for each hob: no need to select the hob and keep hitting a + or - button. This is direct access on a sliding control for each hob. Great stuff. If it is as reliable as the feature set is good, then I'm in for many years of service!

We purchased the AEG 64411 to replace an old induction hob for our new fitted kitchen and so far there isn't anything we don't like about it. The slider controls work very well or you can just select a power level directly. We like that power boost is available on all cooking zones as our last induction hob only had it on one. Timers are easy to use and sense boil worked perfectly when we boiled potatoes last week. If you are in the market for a new induction hob this is certainly one to consider
