No frills basic but good and affordable

    4/5
Great value for money, 5 star oven, stove top nothing special. This could be improved by having cast iron or wider pan supports. The pan supports, although I feel are of good quality and will last a fairly long time, are very very thin indeed. This makes it difficult to balance certain pan sizes or shapes and I've already nearly spilled a flat bottom wok when making stir fried vegetables. Talking of which, this stove top isn't great with woks either. The largest burner is too wide for wok's, and the medium ones at the back, although they did the job somewhat okay, aren't as powerful as I would've liked them to be, and due to how deep this unit is, it can be awkward tossing the wok when all the way at the back of the stove. The small burner in the front right corner, would only be useful for frying an egg in a tiny pan. Seriously, completely useless, so tiny. The main oven itself is absolutely fantastic. It cooks perfectly evenly, very very quick to preheat, cooks perfectly on every shelf. My only gripe is : it's a fan oven, nothing else. No conventional oven setting, no steam baking, no slow baking option, no keep warm option, nothing. It's a temperature dial, that's it. On, or off. But it's absolutely massive, easy to use, and it's a proper fan oven where the heating element is around the fan, rather than heating top and bottom and the fan just circulates a bit of air. The small oven , is conventional only, which is perfectly fine. It has a conventional (top and bottom) setting which cuts the power to the top element by half and maintains a very good constant heat, so no more overcooked frozen pie tops by the time it's cooked in the middle. It has a bottom heat only setting, which is good for warming plates. Then it has a top only, and then a grill setting. According to the instructions, you must leave the top door open while grilling, and by doing so, steam and heat escapes, which heats up the buttons to control the stove, shame. That being said the grill function is very powerful. No light though, shame. Lastly, the clock and smart features, are non existant. You get a clock, and a timer, and the timer doesn't turn off the oven. That's it. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. With promotion and coupon code, I paid about £425 for this oven, and £120 for installation. Compared to other sellers (Currys, appliances direct, John Lewis), it was quite cheaper. If you are after a very very good no nonsense fan oven with a very good small conventional oven, and a no frills basic gas stove top, this is the one for you. If you like to cook with woks, or want smart features and programming, or like to bake bread or pastries and need steam direct heat baking, I would suggest to look elsewhere.

Cooker works well but due to design has an unslightly 3 inch gap between the rear and the back wall

    3/5
The cooker itself works well, but unfortunately for us we didnt realise when we replaced our old 10 year old cooker that the dual fuel cookers now don't have a space at the back to accommodate gas pipes and electric connections to the wall, so our cooker sticks out 3 inches into our kitchen and we have a big unslightly gap between the rear of the cooker and the back wall. If I had realised this beforehand I wouldnt have purchased this. It has made our kitchen smaller and juts out into the room.

Good producty but some issues with lid

    2/5
Awkward one, cooker, in day to day use now is fine, however I asked if the lid could be removed in case we did not want it on, was told yes we could. However when it's removed, also take out a safety device, part of the lid hinge, which stops gas flowing into the hob... Also did not realise it did not come with the bayonet gas hose. Luckily fitter had a second hand one with him, also no cable, again was sorted but no mention of it. The lid was not dead centre, about 7mm offset to one side, this meant it would not open and fit between two high cupboards when open so had to have it removed and pay got get the safety valve sorted. For most if you want a lid fine..

    Hotpoint duel fuel

Don’t like steam coming out vent at back creating drips onto hob. Hob grill stands above rim of cooker and above work top. Be better if level with rim and work top.

Usual good service from AO but this product is terrible. Oven works well but the gas hob is a pain to use. The ignition works every time but I have to hold the gas control button in for quite a long time while the thermocouple works. I have used gas hobs all my life and have never experienced one as useless as this one. The engineer has changed all the thermocouples to no avail and now I'm stuck with an appliance I detest. Hotpoint, pay top price for sub standard gear.

    I feel quite dangerous

    2/5
I purchased this cooker to replace an existing Hotpoint one. Very disappointed not as good as the previous one. Firstly the glass lid does not sit very well and rests on the hob pan supports, it has rubber stoppers but they do nothing as they are no where near the supports. Secondly the hob pan supports have no slight indents to keep the pans in place I find they slip easily and that I feel can be dangerous. I am going to contact Hotpoint directly to see if this is normal. I wouldn’t buy again.

    A very disappointing cooker

    1/5
A very disappointing cooker. Very flimsy hob supports, pots and pans rattle and slide as the supports are so thin and uneven (have a gap between the middle bit and the rest). Lots of steam comes out of the vent when using the oven, that steam turns to water, so you end up with lots of water on your hob when using the oven. The light in the oven can’t be turned off which is such a waste of energy. The cooker can’t be positioned close to the wall so you end up with a gap.

    One delighted pensioner!

    5/5
Absolutely delighted with this cooker. Totally reliable, easy to operate &, an important issue, designed for ease of cleaning. The facility that automatically turns off the gas burners if they are accidentally left on - and we all make mistakes when assembling a complicated dish- is so useful. Top oven makes it possible to cook smaller meals & is consequently fuel economical. Made my best bread ever in the main oven which was also equally successful in the top oven / grill which makes excellent toast too. Best cooker I’ve owned & over a long life I’ve had a few!
