Check the Climate Class
1/5
No where in the description or specification does it mention "climate class". This is important. Even more important if you intend locating this appliance in a room that could see low ambient temperatures, say for example a garage.
The CC usually sold in the UK is SN, (Extended Temperate), which works between 10°C and 32°C. This appliance is rated at ST which is intended for use in Subtropical and operates between 16° and 38°C.
The result is if the ambient temperature falls below 16°C the freezer stops working, switches off and won't switch on again, which means the contents defrost. Not good.
I have never experienced this situation with any other freezer. In fact right next to my Amica is a 30 year old chest freezer that works perfectly at all the temperatures that the Amica has endured since we bought it.
If I had been made aware that we'd purchased an appliance that has obviously been wrongly rated for UK use, I would have bought something else.
