    Was hoping for better

Drys the clothes well, I have no issues there. But, if you leave any clothes in the dryer, even for a few hours or overnight, they smell really damp. I found soggy fluff in the heat exchanger and realised this was the source of the smell. The heat exchanger light is always flashing even though I now clean it after every use to try and keep the smell down. Samsung support told me to move the pipe down a bit (the same level as the washing machine plumbing) so hopefully this may help the horrible smell. Not great on a really expensive machine that is only a few months old

    Great dryer, tough maintenance

    3/5
This is genuinely a great dryer and I'm very glad I bought it, but after having used it consistently for almost a year, there are a couple of things that might make me reconsider this dryer. The first is the lint trap: when you put it back in the dryer after scraping out all the lint, it sends up a cloud of dust into the dryer drum, which makes you feel like you're just adding dust back to your clean laundry. The second is the filter that's accessed through a special compartment that sits on the bottom left side of the front of the dryer. While this doesn't need to be cleaned every time you do a load, it does need to be cleaned fairly often (I get the warning light to clean probably once every 3-4 loads). It's VERY difficult to clean. They give you a little brush to help clean out this secondary dust trap, and it just doesn't work. You end up just mashing all the lint to one end of the metal catchment bars and it sends a load of lint flying everywhere into whatever room your dryer is in - I find that 4/5 times when I check whether the warning light has gone off following a 'clean', it still doesn't think it's clean enough. It's also hard to access, even with the brush, which means I regularly end up hitting my knuckles (and sometimes cutting them) against the sides of the compartment. So while this is a great dryer, maintenance is a real pain. I also took one star off because the delivery and installation of this dryer with AO was a disaster.

Smart looking and impressive in action

    5/5
I am really impressed with this tumble dryer. It is efficient, dries cothes really well and without much creasing and does contain the heat within the appliance rather than the room and clothing becoming hot It is easy to use, shuts itself off and you can see the time counting down which is a good feature. It has lots of extra features such as quick dry or time dry which are useful and it calculates the drying time to what is put in it. There is nothing to fault. Excellent!

    Efficient and gentle on clothes

    5/5
Initially did some research on heat pump tumble dryers and although more expensive than the condenser type, it would pay off through cheaper running costs. This model ticked all the boxes in terms of volume it can handle, variety of cycles, interior light and most importantly optimal dry meaning it can detect when clothes are dry and switch off. You still have the ability to run it like a traditional condenser tumble dryer through the options settings and selecting your time period. I love the shirt dry option and the quick dry option if I'm in a hurry. i love the sleek look.

Machine delivered nearly two weeks ago & not working properly. Was promised an engineer to call out on mon the 1st ( but nothing ). Then was told an engineer will be calling on the 15th because everyone is busy. I think I deserve to get my money back ( terrible service seeing as this tumble dryer cost over £650) Not happy at all ??

Great - but with a catch

    4/5
A great machine - smart, lots of options, plenty of bells and whistles. Plenty to like about it. A light inside the drum, so you can see what you are doing. Double filter catches a LOT of fluff. Lots of program variations to account for almost any requirement - from Cool Air to Timed Dry to Bedding to Mixed Load (my personal go-to). The performance is better than expected, some reviews of Heat Pump dryers mention poor drying performance. As yet, I have not had a single load not come out dry - and you can set the dryness to 3 levels if you need to increase it. Emptying the water container is easy - although it can be quite heavy when full, which should be a serious consideration for anyone with reduced mobility in their hands. In terms of the programs, the Mixed Load program, on Level 2 dry, starts off at approx. 3 hours. Depending on how full the drum is, I have seen it take from a little over 2hrs to nearly 3 1/2hrs - the sensor adjusts to the moisture of the load. More than double the time our old Vented dryer would ever run for, but equally for less than 20% of the cost (on a Smart Meter). My only "niggles" (and reason for the lost star) are as follows: 1: There is a very loud "hum" when the water pump is draining. This happens every now and then through the cycle as the water is pumped into the catch. From what I can find online, this is considered "normal". It certainly would put me off having this product in any living area (mine is in the kitchen, and I can hear it in the lounge when it drains unless I shut the 2 doors in-between). 2: Maintenance is higher than on any other machine I have owned. The filters have to be emptied every load, the water catch every other load, and the Heat Exchange filter every 4th load.

    Failed after two years

    1/5
This heat pump dryer has not been as good or reliable as one we had previously (from a different brand). This one seemed a bit temperamental in relation to the dryer settings - it didn't always seem 'responsive' to the dampness of clothes and the same setting would give different outcomes even when other factors (weight of load, type of clothes) seemed consistent. The main problem we have had is that the machine failed just after two years of use i.e. just out of warranty. This was due to the filter at the bottom of the machine. We cleaned the filter appropriately, as directed and when the lights showed to check and change the filter, and we have been advised that because it is out of warranty we are liable to pay over £400 in repairs. This is not good.

Good looking product that is a waste of time.

Great service from AO. Totally disappointed with the Samsung heat pump dryer. After adjusting to the fact the dryer never seems to get enough to dry (that’s why it takes about 3 hours to dry a load rather than an hour) that was fine. What the most annoying thing about this dryer is the fact that everything gets so tangled in the dryer. Don’t even think about drying bedding because it’s just one giant knotted ball. It even knots up my daughters pj bottoms legs. I spoke to a helper at Samsung and he advised me to dry everything a in pillow case. I said that’s not going to work for a duvet cover. Then finally he said dry every item separately. As in 1 item at a time. I didn’t think it would be so bad as there is a setting for mixed loads. No this does not work. Overall it’s like banging your head against a brick wall. Thank goodness summer is coming up and I won’t have to use this giant waste of money as much.
