    BEWARE OF GAS PIPE!

    1/5
WARNING - Check before you buy AEG. Every built under oven has a hob above it. If this is a GAS HOB then there MUST be a gas pipe feed. AEG design square box ovens with NO cut out for a gas pipe. Having checked the dimensions against the NEFF oven I replaced, this was smaller so should not have been a problem - except NEFF design for a gas pipe with a cut out I have just wasted £700 plus on an oven I cannot use without completely redesigning that side of my kitchen. Add to that the oven dimension suggest this oven has more capacity than the NEFF equivalent and this one is 2inches SMALLER Never AEG again.

Dont rely on AEG's engineering reputation

If I had the money I would throw this on the tip and buy a Neff. Practically from day one it was faulty. First the fan made an horrendous noise and the engineer said we should have a baffle plate and new fan as well. This was ordered and a new engineer came to fit it and the assembly. However when it came the second engineer decided not to fit it and said he had adjusted the door seal as things burnt at the front. In addition it has never kept to the indicated temperature. IE if food says 180 for 20 minutes you can guarantee if you leave it that long its burnt. The fan is still noisy but we were told that's normal. It still burns at the front. We wish we had never seen it but AO will not replace it until an engineer says so. Next time its Curry's and a totally different oven manufacturer

    A real disappointment

This double oven was not as described and was returned. The product info said it had a 50L main oven but was actually only 45L. The main cavity also had a grill - which the product info said it did not have - and took up more room in the main cavity. The way the oven is built means the wide surrounding sides of the oven make it very narrow - so narrow that my roasting tin was unable to fit in and other oven trays only just made it. It was returned and another double oven purchased in its place.

Looks can be deceptive, shoddy build quality

    1/5
Purchased one of these just over a month ago now and had some issues getting the temperature setting to cook food properly, both the top and bottom ovens would consistently get far too hot. I decided to place thermometers in the ovens and worked out that there was roughly a 70 - 80 degree higher difference between cavity temperature and actual temperature set (for 200 degrees the oven would have to be set at 120 degrees). It wasn't until I had a good look inside the ovens that I noticed the thermostats were not fitted correctly, in fact one looks like it has been bent. Unless the quality improves I would steer clear. If it all worked properly then it would be a clear 4.5 star rating but sadly not this time.

    Poor quality and overpriced.

I have now owned this oven for nearly two years. It developed a very frustrating clicking noise very quickly following receiving it. This only occurs following switching the fan oven on, and can be prevented by also turning on the top oven. Furthermore, the LED clock has failed, and one of the light bulbs failed after only a few months. In fairness to AEG I have not pursued fixing these issues prior to now (so cannot comment on this aspect of the service) as it has been a low priority issue of mine, but it is frustrating that something so expensive has so many issues out of the box. The overall design is nice, however it feels a little cheap to touch given the price - the knobs and buttons are all plastic. Also the functionality is fairly basic, and it takes a whilst to warm up. On the plus side, it does cook food. That's as good as it gets for this oven! In short, save your money and buy something for half the price which is just as good.

    Oven replacement

    3/5
Oven looked a quality item however this oven did not fit into the space where the original oven fitted due to the oven design that left no room for the above hob gas inlet. Completely square at the back where other ovens have a sloping back to allow room for hob fitments. Informed the company and chose an alternative oven. No dramas from A.O. dealt with the issue very professionally and a quick turn around.

The best built under oven for the price.

Difficult to review product as it is part of a major house improvement and we had not yet moved back. All I can say is that AO delivered on time and the guys were friendly yet professional.

Ok oven but not as good as old model

    3/5
Bought this aeg double oven to replace my 10 year old model , wanted the next model up with just buttons like my old one but could not find one in stock ,so had to have this next model down . Did not realise that it only had 1 fan oven In bottom oven and not in top , would have preferred two fan ovens as with family of 5 plus extras ,often have both ovens on with 4 shelf’s full . Top oven not so good for cooking two shelf’s of food . Only comes with one shelf per oven ,luckily I saved my old oven shelf’s which fit . Push in knobs are plastic and don’t feel good quality and difficult to see what settings oven is on. Many settings from old oven not included which is a great disappointment. No ding when oven reaches temperature, you have to keep looking to see if light gone out , no timer on clock to let you know how long oven been on in total , door only 2 glass thick not 3 . Having trouble getting use to settings and undercooking and over cooking many dishes at the moment but I’m sure I will get use to it Overall it cooks and grills , but wish I have had the time to have waited for the next model up .
