    Poor Design

    3/5
Purchased this oven about a month ago lovely looking, cooks nicely, grill pan far to heavy would make it easy if it had a handle. The high rim around the wire shelf I find very dangerous burnt myself a few times now trying to get a biscuit tray out, flat shelves would be a lot easier. Only given 3 star rating as grill pan far to heavy and no handle also poor design with the shelves

    Excellent oven

We are very pleased with this oven. It heats up quickly and cooks really well. The knobs can be pushed in while the oven is on which helps prevent the temperature from being changed.

Looks can be deceptive, shoddy build quality

    1/5
Purchased one of these just over a month ago now and had some issues getting the temperature setting to cook food properly, both the top and bottom ovens would consistently get far too hot. I decided to place thermometers in the ovens and worked out that there was roughly a 70 - 80 degree higher difference between cavity temperature and actual temperature set (for 200 degrees the oven would have to be set at 120 degrees). It wasn't until I had a good look inside the ovens that I noticed the thermostats were not fitted correctly, in fact one looks like it has been bent. Unless the quality improves I would steer clear. If it all worked properly then it would be a clear 4.5 star rating but sadly not this time.

    Solid cooker

Build quality is good and does what it says in the spec. : Downsides the dimensions of the ovens is deceptive as the cubic volume although good is altered by the additional depth - so take care.

    A real disappointment

    1/5
This double oven was not as described and was returned. The product info said it had a 50L main oven but was actually only 45L. The main cavity also had a grill - which the product info said it did not have - and took up more room in the main cavity. The way the oven is built means the wide surrounding sides of the oven make it very narrow - so narrow that my roasting tin was unable to fit in and other oven trays only just made it. It was returned and another double oven purchased in its place.

    Very smokey

It doesn't self clean as well as previous ovens I have had. Gets very smokey when roasting or grilling anything fatty. Needs a smokey hour on full heat to clean it / prevent rancid fatty smell. Somewhat disappointed

    Excellent oven so far

    5/5
I ordered this double oven a week ago when the one in our new home gave up so have had only a short time using it but so far I am very pleased. I had previously had Stoves ovens for the past 30 years, which I loved, but the newer ones on ao.com didn't appeal so I went for this AEG. It's not cheap so really has to live up to expectations. Design: It looks great, smart and streamlined. It is easy to take off the rack supports to clean the ovens, as you must before first use. There is plenty of choice for rack positions - I do feel that a third shelf should have been provided though. I just cooked Sunday lunch for 7, using both ovens, and had to use an old rack I had, with legs, to sit on the bottom. There is a pair of sliding rails you fit into whichever oven and level you choose but I may simply not use them - they seem like a great idea but may turn out to be a nuisance, as described by another reviewer. It's simple to remove them if so. The shelves themselves slide neatly in and out anyway, with a stop to avoid falling right out and a front lip to hold your dishes in place. Cooking: Both ovens heat up fast. The dials are clear The manual describes well which oven, shelf and setting to use for each item and I found this gave me a great lasagne then perfect, crisp roast potatoes, beautifully cooked lamb and excellent puffy Yorkshire puddings. I haven't baked yet. The grills also heat up fast and give good even grilling. I haven't yet used the turbo grill function. All in all, we're well pleased and hope this oven will give a lot of years service.

Very pleased with this oven. Very easy to operate, clear symbols. Bottom oven happens to cook well and evenly . Top oven heats up very quickly . It’s a shame that the grill can only be on fully no half grill option. Some people have mentioned that they don’t like the shelves as they are not flat so have burnt themselves getting out food. I solved this just by turning them over.
