Don’t bother. Takes hours to dry anything more than a bath towel

    1/5
Had it for 18 months. Has always struggled to dry more than 3 towels or a few clothes. I persevered with it but today decided enough was enough and bought a 2nd hand normal dryer. Using octopus go tariff I want a dryer that will dry stuff in a couple of hours. Today after 7 hours my towels were barely any dryer than when I put them in. I’ve had a good look over it, nothing appears out of place, it just doesn’t produce enough heat to actually dry things. 1 load of washing would need to be split into 3 separate drying sessions. I’m not convinced these save money - it uses less energy draw but over a much longer period of time. So if it’s pulling 800w for 7 hours that’s 5.6 kWh. If a normal dryer pulls 2kw for 2 hours it’s 4kwh. I genuinely feel these cost more to buy and more to run than a normal dryer. Pretty gutting really as you think you’re doing a good thing buying an A rated product.

    Cost

    5/5
A*** or A*, upon checking the difference it becomes obvious that the few pence difference per hour shouldn't play so heavily on decisions to buy. It did for me. However after weeks of angst I / we plumped for this A* dryer and it wasn't a mistake. For us we needed a dryer that wasn't as deep as the std because of pipework that lay behind. Despite the reduction in depth it still provides a pretty decent drying weight. It's early days, in fact a calendar month, and it's doing the job we hoped it would. Have checked running costs, as much as one can, and it's proving to dry a full load for under a quid. As we only use it as a necessity it's definitely worth the purchase.

    Overall amazing product, NON-REVERSIBLE DOOR

    4/5
If you need a low-depth model this will be one of your very few options. Fits perfectly under a shallow breakfast bar unit in the kitchen. 7 kg dryer will be enough for household of 2-3 people if you have a 7 kg washing machine. Expect longer operation as the heat-pump ones use lower temperatures. That gives you benefit of being less harsh to your clothes and significantly lower energy bills. The light inside is a nice touch. Even it's not one of the loudest dryers out there it is still far from whisper quiet (if you never had one be advised the noise is similar to having a lorry with engine on just outside of your window). The program names are somewhat confusing. The user manual says that "Cotton Extra Dry" is good for bedding and towels and that "Towels" is good for hypo-allergic hygienic drying". They could pick better names. The sensors work great the laundry is dried consistently with no wet patches (except of some bedding). Normally no excessive creasing. The humidity in the room goes up a little bit, can be ventilated fast enough. Unpacking and installation was really simple and if you can lift it one person can do it without help. Don't forget to keep it off for up to 12 hours after installation (the gas inside needs to stabilise). I would give 5 stars but I was disappointed that the door is not reversible (at least I think so, the cut-outs on each side of the door opening are different shapes). The user manual says "if the door is reversible, follow the instructions". BEKO has no list of tumble dryers with reversible doors so I spent several hours with research and my conclusion is it's *most likely not*. So it's not just being disappointed with having the door opening the wrong way but absence of this product specification on seller website, BEKO website and user manual. That said the door is large and opens some 85° so not a deal breaker. Overall I'd buy it again but that's mostly because very few models are low-depth and it does the job really well.

Excellent machine with a usefully small depth

    5/5
Excellent item. We were in a jam as we only had a limited amount of depth to accommodate a full size dryer. This one was the smallest depth full size one we could find (it's approx 50cm deep) and it also had a decent capacity (7kg). We imagined that there would be a compromise on performance due to the depth limitation. But that's not been the case, with the machine performing fantastically well. One observation is that, because this is a sensor dryer, when you first put the clothes in you often get the display telling you that the drying time will be hours. However, once the sensor has assessed the load, and depending on how well the clothes are responding to the drying process, then the time remaining often comes down radically. For instance, on the towels setting the machine usually initially says that drying will take approx 3 hours (!) but, in reality, they are ready in 45 to 50 mins once the sensor has properly assessed them. So, don't get alarmed by what looks like long drying times. Usually that's not at all the case!

    Replacement Dryer works well.

    1/5
First dryer worked OK for a week before leaving the the clothes damp whatever the selected programme! After an engineers report Beko agreed to my demand for a replacement and that is working OK. The heat pump technology takes longer to dry the washing but is, apparently, cheaper to run. Too early to confirm that. However, I am now well satisfied with this dryers performance providing it continues to work properly! ao was very supportive and concurred with my demand and delivered the replacement dryer the following day after Beko's decision. They deserve a 5 star rating.

    I love it

    5/5
good program settings though I am only using 1hour 15mins settings and it gets everything dry apart from towels which I put on a 2 hour setting. I love the water pump using surplus water as distilled for the iron. Easy removable filters. The best tumble dryer I have purchased. No bad points to comment on.

    Happy thus far!

    4/5
It's early days (the weather has been very hot with no rain for months so I haven't needed to use the dryer until now. Thus far I am pleased with it, although it does have a couple of things which could be improved. Firstly, the levelling. It has four feet but only three can be adjusted, the two at the back and one at the front, I feel it would possibly be easier to level the machine if the fixed foot was at the rear. Secondly, there was a sharp edge somewhere at the front (near the fixed foot) which scratched my floor when moving the machine in and out of its location when levelling - fortunately, being a slate floor, with time the scratch will come out but others need to be aware of this and put some protective material down when moving the machine. Thirdly, the machine was supplied with a hose to enable it to be connected to a drain so that the condensate draw did not need to be emptied (this needs to be done after every cycle, you will be astonished how much water comes out of your laundry!). The hose is quite a small diameter so care will be required in ensuring it can't come loose and drain all over your floor. It is also not very long, I obtained a Beko extension hose which I connected to the original hose (this was not straight-forward, I used heat shrink to make a good joint) to enable me to reach a suitable drain connection. Using the machine...at first I was concerned at how long the display said it would take to dry my laundry but quickly realised that this was a maximum time - the numbers came down very quickly once it got going and it didn't seem to take any longer than the vented dryer it replaced. Noise. It didn't seem to be any louder than its predecessor, it's just a different noise. Thus far I've only used it three times but it seems to do the job okay. I'm also debating whether or not to connect the external drain hose, the instructions tell you NOT to drink the water but it occurred to me that it will probably be almost distilled water and can be used in a steam iron - as it is pure water the iron should not need descaling.

    Extremely poor dryer

This dryer takes up to 4 times longer than my old 18 year old one, and the washing is still not dry. It is one of my worst buys.
