Easy to Install and Simple Instructions to Use
4/5
I brought this to replace a very old existing integrated unit by another manufacturer and overall, it was almost a like-for-like swap between the two but with updated features.
The reviews for this unit were generally all positive when I read them. In terms of installing it, I would describe myself as a competent DIYer and it was quite a straight-forward process. There are various holes to each side of the unit, which made it easier to near enough match up to the old holes so I could see that the position is correct. There are also rear brackets if you are looking to affix-it to the wall instead. The only tricky part was affixing the pull-out cover onto the cover door but in the instruction pack, it does include instructions on to do this.
I like the removable and dishwasher-safe grease panels, which should negate the need for me to constantly purchase the filter paper. In terms of the fan noise, I knew that these integrated units by its nature will never be near silent but I was surprised that it is a lot bearable compared to my old unit. The twin LED lights are also a lot brighter. The power cable is also separate to the unit with a power plug connected, so it is like ‘plug and play’ when you have finished installing it, without having the cable getting in the way at the start.
The only main criticism I have is that it does not include the carbon filters (it needs to two) to cover the fans on either side. I would say that given the price that the unit costs, it should be provided so that it can be used straight away as I did not know the size of the filter needed until I opened it. Even the instructions do not fully describe the size needed as well.
Overall though, I will still recommend this unit.
