Useless at drying bedding - wish I could get a replacement

    1/5
This tumble drier is the worst one I've ever had. It isn't fit for purpose. I run an Air BnB and need to wash and dry a lot of bedding. This machine tangles all the sheets and duvet covers up into big knots (despite closing the poppers on the duvet covers) and the bedding is still wet inside. Last time I used it, I literally put in 3 sheets, that was all because I know it can't cope. It tangled them all up yet again, and they came out wet, so I have to hang them over doors, or restart the drying cycle, which wastes electricity. I would really love to get rid of it and get something better but can't afford to. God knows what I'll do in winter.

This tumble dryer has a nice big opening at the front. I've also connected the hose to the washing machine drain, so I don't need to empty the water at the front. It's a little bit tricky to figure out what setting does what - still working on it - and clothes are often still damp at the end of the cycle. Glad I went for the heat pump though - much better than the previous vented dryer as it doesn't expel warm air into the room. It's slightly noisier that the previous dryer, but it's worth it to save electricity.

    Efficient, but a bit slow

If you’re coming from a lifetime of standard condensers, there’s a bit of a learning curve towards how long you can expect a load to take ?? On the upside, saving a fortune on electric and it steams up the back room a lot less than the old one. The filter trap on this is fantastic. Not sure if we have a dodgy model or if it applies to all of them - it’s pretty quiet until it starts pumping the water into the tank. It sounds like it’s rattling / broken and makes a hell of a racket. But not sure if that is a feature or a bug ?? Haven’t used wifi features despite being a tech aficionado - it just looks a bit gimmicky.

I think the dryer is cheaper to run but it does take an age to dry the clothes.

I did an extensive review of washer dryers at the ao and other sites, viewed product availability as well as plus posted reviews and ultimately focused in on this particular Candy Heat Pump Dryer. This dryer replaces a 15 yr old vented dryer. To be honest, before the old unit packed in, I had not come across a heat pump dryer, but was familiar with the concept in heat pump boilers, so it made sense to pursue further. The only observation that I could make out from others' reviews of this dryer was that it took longer to dry clothes to the same dryness level, but with lower energy usage. The other difference was a tank in the door recess to manually remove the condensate after each run, though this can be plumbed away into the washing machine's waste pipe. We may elect to do that, in time. Initial findings (after 10 days use), are exactly as per the reviews I read. It does take a bit of time to work out the optimum button combination to dry towels, sheets and clothing, however, it does the job, eventually. The guide book from Candy probably needs proof reading by a mother tongue English speaker, though this is a minor observation. The handbook is also fairly general in its applicability - I think it's written to cover several models. In summary, it's a good replacement to the old vented dryer, but time will tell if we get another 15 years usage out of the unit. The Dryer was available, delivered and installed the following day

    Great Tumbledryer

    5/5
It is a great tumble dryer and I am extremely happy using the bluetooth settings on my phone. It doesn’t use much electric, so it’s very cheap to run. Emptying the water container is so easy to do too. You get a reminder on your phone to empty the water container and take out the lint. I would recommend this product for families and for people saving money on their electricity bills.

    Does everything as expected.

Like other heat pump tumble dryers, it takes longer to get the clothes dry but it costs far less to run. Does everything that I would expect of it.

    Heat Pumper Tumble Dryer

Really happy with the product. The condenser appears to collect a lot of water quickly, which I can only assume means that the machine is doing a good job of collecting the condensation. The filter fills up with lint very quickly which again, means it must be doing a good job of filtering. I like that you can choose to dry on cooler settings as some dryers get too hot and just leave more condensation on the clothes which always seems counterproductive. It's really handy to have the condenser compartment in the door and made of clear plastic so you can see it fill up without the need to remember to check a drawer. I am not sure that the new technology motor is any quieter than other dryers, as advertised but this is no problem as it's no louder either - also, it is situated in an otherwise quite empty room so perhaps it is quieter but the echoing doesn't help. Nice big drum as expected. Thrilled with the A++ rating. Really happy with the machine overall... Have already recommended a Heat Pump style dryer to friends & family, and will continue to recommend.
