I bought this to replace what I thought was a noise prone old fridge. In retrospec I wish I had bought a manual defrost one. Being frost free the freezer has a fan that runs quite often. The fan is not silent and it sometimes makes the freezer drawers rattle. I am very sensitive to noise so what may seem irritating to me you may find ok. The compressor noise is quiet, just a light high frequency buzz. The fan makes it sound worse. It is supposed to be 39db.

Freezer arrived and ao dealt with delivery perfectly well, we plugged in the following day and after 12 hours we noticed the fridge and freezer was not getting cool, in fact it was the opposite, our digital thermometer showed 23.5 degrees Celsius and the Kitchen was only at 18. I rang ao and was auto diverted to Beko (45 min wait) who advised they would need to send an engineer to verify the fault at which point we had the right to a refund or replacement, however they had no appointments for 12 days which I expressed my dissatisfaction as it doesn’t take an engineer to confirm that the fridge was heating and not cooling when I could certify this was the case from my thermometer. They booked the appointment anyway and after the call I was transferred back to ao (30 min wait). Ao were quite sympathetic and could understand I wasn’t happy waiting 12 days with no working fridge freezer. I was put on hold so ao could ring back through to Beko to confirm 12 day wait (20 minute hold). Ao agreed to replace the in 3 days but had no stock so I paid another £60 for a different brand and was just relieved ao we’re helping. After I ended the call I went to the kitchen to unplug the Fridge Freezer and noticed the kitchen had smoke and a very strong smell of burning plastic, after unplugging and waiting for the smoke to clear I looked at the compressor at the back which had expanded to a point where it had touched the internal plastic and melted it, this was easier to see using phone camera looking upwards. I have looked at other reviews regarding this model and there is nothing to suggest this is common, my best advice is do not plug a brand new fridge freezer in, then go out, I’m in no doubt this could have been far worse than it actually was had I of not unplugged when I did.

Because the product has only one thermostat the temperatures fluctuates too much; the fridge goes from 3 Celsius to 1 Celsius, the freezer goes from -19 to -14, if I turn it down to get the fridge to go 3 Celsius to 5 or 6 Celsius then the freezer also drops from 14 Celsius to 10 or even 9 Celsius, if I turn the dial from 4 and quarter to 3 the the temperature of the freezer goes up too much before the motor kicks in. I dont like single thermostat fridge freezers.

Great fridge freezer if you are single or at max 2 people. Well lit interior for fridge.The fridge compartment seems to be a little larger than the freezer for it be a true 50/50.. Yet to road test the freezer guard feature (which what drew me to this). Not keen on the bumps on top of the appliance in case you need to change the hinges of the doors on the opposite side.

This fridge/freezer is just the right size with more than enough storage space for a single person. THE FRIDGE: When you open the door everything from top to bottom in the compartment is well illuminated by the combined top mounted LED light/Temperature dial. The 3 safety glass shelves, (two of which can be placed in any of four available positions, all of which helps with the internal lighting) can be easily removed if needed to be cleaned, underneath the lowest half shelf sits a good sized fruit and vegetable crisper drawer, you also get a separate clear plastic egg holder for half a dozen eggs. The door also has 3 shelves with the middle shelf able to be placed in one of two positions; again these are also easy to remove to clean. THE FREEZER: This contains 3 slide out clear fronted drawers, the lower of which is a little smaller in size to the other two due to the external placement of the fridge/freezers workings and compressor, but still a good size, you also get a small white plastic Ice Cube tray that makes 12 Ice Cubes (it measures 19cm x 9cm x 2.5cm or 7.5” x 3.5” x 1” in old money). Inside behind the drawers on the back wall of the freezer is a fan which helps in circulating the air around to keep all the levels cold when you’ve opened the door. At present as an indication mine is set halfway between 2 & 3 with the fridge at a temperature of 3 degrees and the freezer at -21 degrees, I can hear a quiet humming sound in the background when it starts up to run its regular cooling cycle but not what I would call that loud to bother you compared to some. Two good points that helped me decide on this model was firstly its Frost Free, so no more having to manually defrost things and second, was that although the drawers and drawer fronts maybe made of plastic, both parts of these along with the safety glass shelves can all be individually replaced in the event of them being broken. Over all I'm very happy with the choice I made.

Excellent product. This is a must buy for anyone looking for a compact / space saving fridge freezer. The 50/50 split isn’t always to find in smaller models, but the Beko provides it admirably here and the shelving & drawers feel durable and well made. The fridge freezer boasts a simple but modern design (3 colours available) & the door can be hung on either side. The frost free feature is a definite plus point especially at this end of the market whilst the general running is quiet. Overall an excellent little unit, perfect for small spaces/couples/smaller families.

The Beko CRFG3552W Frost Free Fridge/ Freezer I bought from ao.com is brilliant, it is very quiet, some frost free fridge freezers can be a bit noisey because of the fan, there is plenty of storage space in both the fridge and the freezer and it looks great to.

The unit is rated 50/50 on storage space but it's not. Freezer space is a lot smaller. Build quality just average, but you get what you pay for. Not first choice of fridge freezer, purchased because Beko is the only company who manufacture a unit the size needed for the aperture available in the kitchen. Previous Beko freezer purchased lasted 4 years to the month before it died. Hope this one does better!
