Can you make better coffee than the Barista TS Smart by hand? Perhaps, if you're a very good barista. For the rest of us with neither the skill nor the time to faff about with grinding beans and getting the brew just right, this machine will knock out basically any kind of coffee you like that's so good that you'll be disappointed by a lot of cafes. It's also largely idiot-proof, it'll remind and guide you through any cleaning and maintenance that it needs.
The phone app for its Bluetooth connectivity is also surprisingly decent, and I've not encountered any bugs or glitches while using it. For guests, it's easy to just hand them the phone so they can spec their coffee to their taste.
Just bear in mind that this a large machine and it's surprisingly deep. This was fine for my large kitchen, but if yours is smaller do take the time to measure and make sure you've got the space for this absolute unit. Otherwise, I have no qualms about recommending this even against more expensive competitors.
