After my old hob stopped working we looked for a long time so we could check all out.... I decided on a Samsung in the first place which when it arrived was great looking and very responsive... the unfortunate thing was that the touch sensor pad did not work properly.. This happened twice so both had to be returned... Then we decided on this particular Neff which had been suggested to me by a friend as she had one similar.... Well I have to say that I am not that happy with it as the touch controls do not seem to be that quick when you need to reduce the heat so now I am constantly "boiling over" and mopping up.... This is not the first induction hob i have had so its not that I am not used to using them.... To be honest Im gutted that I couldnt get the samsung to work properly but then again nor could the engineer who came out to fix it....

New to induction hobs, still getting used to it. I can't understand why it remembers the last temperature you used on each ring - what on earth is the point of this feature? Trying to see if there is some way of re-setting this so it starts from zero on each use. It does make a slightly startling grating noise as you increase the temperature. The instruction booklet is really tiresome to use. What you need is a simple chart equating the 17 heat settings to commonly-used settings on gas and non-induction electric hobs. I do think a glass top is stupid for a hob, however easy to clean. The potential for cracking, scratching and chipping the surface is quite high. I have bought a silicone cover, which protects the surface and lets you cook on top of, and which enables you to place hot things on the hob that you have just taken out of the cooker. I have upgraded to this hob because everyone needs to stop using gas and it is energy efficient. However, I don't love it.

Powerful, capable hob once one gets used to it

    4/5
This is our first induction hob and it is taking a while to get used to. For anyone switching for the first time, the key issue that has caught us out is that unlike a gas hob, where during the time taken to heat a pot, some cooking takes place, with induction it heats so quickly that cooking really only starts when the water is boiling. Thus it takes longer to boil an egg from that point than on a gas hob. No problem once one understands. Can't compare with other induction hobs but having to first select the 'plate' before one can adjust the heat is a little annoying and in the time, pans can boil over. Again something to get used to. On the plus side, no wasted heat, no burnt pans on the outside to clean, individual timers for each cooking area and easy to clean make this and any induction hob delightful to use.

    Easy to use and clean.

Smart looking and versatile, I can now use larger pots on the hotplate side or even more than two pots just to keep them warm whilst I cook on the two separate rings.
