    Disappointed Hotpoint Customer

    2/5
If I am being totally honest I am disappointed with this Hotpoint oven. The rack system inside is pointless and not fit for purpose bearing in mind my other Hotpoint over had a far better toast rack and more stainless steel racks. You have to have the over set to 20 degrees higher and set the timer for 5 mins longer if you want your food cooked. I really do like the timer as it turns off the oven after the time has elaspe. I have not used the cleaning feature yet as the over is new but hopefully this will work as that is one job I would rather not do. The over does look nice although the simples could be a little bigger. Overall I would expect better from Hotpoint.

    Fairly disapointing

    2/5
The cooling fans run for 45 mins once the unit is switched 'off' (after cooking at 180c for 30 mins). Not what I was expecting given the A+ energy rating. The display makes a constant high-pitch squeaking noise, even when the oven is 'off'. The cooking fan is loud and rattly. Takes quite a long time to get hot. Both control knobs are very low-quality and un-precise. It does look quite nice - but I would have expected a better experience given the price.

    Good but annoying fan noise

    2/5
Overall a great oven that warms up quickly and cooks food really well however the fan noise changes to help keep its energy usage down and it’s really noticeable and quite annoying. We even had an engineer come and look at it and according to Hotpoint’s technical department it’s normal. Would have asked for a refund if possible but due to it not being a fault, I’ll have to live with it!

    Very disappointed

    2/5
Desperately disappointed with my new oven, came with only one shelf and no grill pan . The temperature gauge is very basic and inaccurate; my last hotpoint oven had a digital display of the temperature . Used the timer for the first time this morning and it was so quiet I didn’t hear it. On the plus side , it is a larger cooking area than I’ve had before and it was easy to install. I’d return the oven , but it arrived in very basic packaging which had to be destroyed to install the oven.

Satisfactory while it lasted but disappointing performance and quality

    2/5
This is an OK oven - not terrible but also a bit disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it works OK (or at least, it used to!) but given that one of the big selling points is that it cooks things evenly due to its air circulation...well, that just isn't true. Food cooked on a baking tray will always be noticeably browner/more cooked at the front left than anywhere else on the tray. It has a timer on it, but the noise it makes when the timer sounds is absolutely pathetic. I've been stood right next to the oven with the extractor fan on low, cooking something on the hob, and I didn't hear the timer when it went off! If you're in another room then the chances of hearing it are pretty much zero. The main issue I have is that it has now broken. Even when set to a fairly low temperature, it gets crazy hot and the element in the back of the oven glows red. It just keeps on heating up and then it seems some kind of safety circuit shuts it off and "F06" flashes on the digital display. So I'm now faced with a sizeable bill to either get it fixed or replace it.

    Typical cheaply made Hotpoint oven......

    2/5
Typical Hotpoint product with typical hotpoint build quality, cheap materials used throughout, fancy features which are just old features that marketing have reinventing and given meaningless fancy names... Razor sharp metal edges left throughout the product, I managed to slice my hand open just fitted the cheaply made product, super short non replacable mains power lead (1m) make the product a real pain to install!!! And the best my unit has some real odd software bugs, got the impression this oven was really build down to a low price with the minimum of product testing and built to last 2-4 years at best... Purchased a Hotpoint tumble dryer a few months ago and that lasted about 6 weeks before it had to have a new main board fitted,, had a hotpoint washing machine that lasted 4-5 years before the counterweight fell off and it destroyed itself... So I don't why I keep buying Hotpoint products, oh it might last 5 years.....maybe....

oven seal keeps coming off. 3 years and getting error message F06. Hotpoint service team is impossible to get hold of. Replacement seal not available to order. Had cheaper oven previously and lasted 10 years without any problems.
