Our new SA2844HIX Hotpoint Oven seems to have multiple problems. 1. Seems unable to reach maximum temperature. 2. The pre-heat feature and set point temperature indicator is misleading. E.g. set the oven for 180C and the temperature indicator (visible and audible) signals temperature is achieved after 10 mins. But the oven is only at 80C. 3) It takes a surprisingly long time to reach 180C. About 40mins. Called Hotpoint for advice. Was told "yep that's how it works". I insisted that it was not working how I would expect nor was it working according to the operating instructions delivered with the oven. In reply I was told that my only recourse was to have an Engineer visit with a potential £60 fee. Engineer has visited. Initial diagnosis was it was working fine. Because I rejected that diagnosis a long conversation with the Hotpoint Tech Desk ensued. Outcome was that the firmware for the oven was given an update. Current situation... 1. Preheat cycle for a desired 180C indicates temperature achieved after 10mins but the temperature is only 95C (80C before update) 2. 180C is achieved after 23mins (40mins before update) 3. Grill function does not get hot enough to melt cheese for cheese on toast. Engineer has left. He may call back? Somewhat lost as to what do now. Very disappointed.

We bought this in November last year - the rubber seal of the door is already coming off. The diamond clean is essentially just steaming the oven which does help but it isn't a great feature. I wish we had bought a different product.

Probably a good oven, but cant yet use due to the ridiculously short cable supplied with it. If its more than 1m from your socket you're gonna need an electrician. Pity money saving comes to this

Bought this oven from AO in Sept 2019. The oven itself is fine, however after 14 months it stopped working. It would get hot for 15 mins, then cut off. After wasting 60 quid on a call out appliance engineer, it transpires that the PCB and sensor of this model, and a few other Hotpoint and Induit models have known and common issues with this particular printed circuit board (PCB). So much so that Hotpoint doesn't currently have the parts needed to fix my oven. Trying to get in touch with customer service at Hotpoint or AO is almost impossible and as all I can do is vote with my wallet, Hotpoint have lost me as a customer for ever, and the jury's out re AO. Currently about 20% of the parts for this model are out of stock on the Hotpoint website. What that means is you might just end up with a lemon as I did, and the hassle of changing a damned over every year and a half.

It was great until it broke after only three years. I really hate that these companies make products that only last a few years and charge extortionate amounts to fix them, all so that you fork out for another product which will inevitably fail after 2-3 years

Looks good and did operate well but unfortunately the door seal came loose after only 3 weeks of light use and will not fix back properly. Now the oven looses too much heat and doesn’t work properly.

Installed ; failed with error codes after 4 weeks on Christmas morning .. can’t get a hot point engineer for over a week .. and then Ao decide to send me emails telling me what to cook in an oven that doesn’t even work ..

Hinge faulty on unpacking hot point wanted to send out there engineer to fix it only had it 20 minutes said if our fault had to pay call out charge crazy as only unpacked it ended up with refund AO were good but can’t say same for hotpoint
