    Broken after 4 months

    1/5
A good looking hob with sturdy pan supports, but unfortunately ours now won't stop clicking (auto light function stuck on) after 4 months of use. I have cleaned and dried the entire hob, but the problem remains. Not impressed with Bosch build quality! Hopefully this will be sorted by the standard Bosch 2 year warranty.

Fitted a Gas Bosh hob PBH6B5B60. The quality of this hob for the price is very, very poor as the top and bottom of the hob move independently leaving a big gap when the foam is put underneath plus being able to pull the top up when it is securely fitted on the bottom. I fit hundreds of hobs a year and this is the worst hob I have ever fitted, taking me 4 hours (normally 1hour) and the edges are razor sharp and I sliced my finger open. I contacted the manufactory but they didn't want to know.

Not as good as it (the spec) appears to be

After using this hob for 1 year, I can honestly say that the Bosch pan rests are absolutely rubbish. Worse still, they are actually dangerous. If a smaller pan is moved slightly off centre, it tips over easily. Even a frying pan will tip if moved to one side. This was never a problem with my old Whirlpool hob. Also, bearing in mind that the Bosch hob has a wok burner (Bosch’s description), a wok will not sit (unassisted) on the pan rest nor will the pan rest support a wok stand. Really bad design Bosch! I can't wait until this unit fails so I have a good excuse to replace it.

Good looking and versatile gas hob but slightly defective

Lovely hob but sadly when we came to fit it, one of the rear corners does not sit flat on the work surface and is flexible, only by about 2mm but it is annoying and can't be filled with sealant as the instructions specifically say not to. The gas engineer (not ao.com's own) thought it might have been slightly damaged in transit but it was too late to demand a replacement as I desperately wanted something to cook on. I would advise purchasers to use the company's own engineer so that if there is a problem they can do something immediately which we were not in a position to do.

I just can’t get the hang of it!

Looks great, good price but can I light the thing? The wok burner seems to take forever to light and I often give up!

    Good Quality appliance

Good overall performance, does exactly what it says it should. Takes a while to get used to the temperature as I've burnt 2 cakes ! 2 niggles that I have: the alarm for the timer is very quiet so if you have your extractor hood, the radio or are in another room you really can't hear it. The touch controls for the timer are not back lit meaning you have to turn the kitchen light on to see it. Overall very happy with the appliance.

    Decent hob

This is a decent product which we chose because of the wok ring, which is a nice addition for a 4 ring hob and works well. Only downside is that the stainless steel scratches easily.

    Great performance

Speedy delivery and offered to carry it into the house for me. Now fitted, we’ve enjoyed several good meals. The auto gas disconnect is a comfort. The burners heat fast. The range of size of rings is great and particularly the wok one. Easy to clean and excellent value.
