    Disappointed

    2/5
Bought this to replace a 15 year old Panasonic which had been superb in every way. Was persuaded to buy this by good reviews and because it is (a) black and (b) takes up slightly less space. Otherwise it is a huge disappointment. Controls complicated and not at all intuitive. Cannot see at all what is going on inside due to heavily tinted door/dim light bulb. Veg frequently overcooked - the automatic settings are only of use if you are feeding 4 or more people, not 1 or 2. Defrost settings absurd - it indicated my chicken portions would be defrosted in 2 mins with a standing time of 1 hour! After 3 months, still having to refer to instruction book for everything. Back to Panasonic!

It works but a little lightweight and quirky controls

An interesting little micro wave, quite light but then it’s twenty years since I last bought one. That was a heavyweight by comparison but lasted 20 years. So this Samsung at first sight seems a bit delicate but maybe that’s how micro waves come these days. It works fine so far. Not tried the grill though. I’m not sure the basic timer and general settings are as simple as they could be…they’re a bit odd in that once the power setting is selected there’s an annoying delay before you can set the cooking time…then again if you set the power rating and just press start up comes a 30sec time to which you can add or subtract . Takes getting used to but then no harm finding a bit of patience these days. Generally, it works a bit lightweight and a bit quirky …some might say it has character!!

    OK, but could be improved.

Nice looking microwave, the basic function easy to use, however due to the absolutely useless instructions or lack thereof, the grill, combi, keep warm, auto cook, defrost functions etc are not explained at all. Trial and error is the only way to work out how to use them, hence only 3*. The other downside is the door is totally black you can't see inside the oven.

Great microwave but expected it to last a lot longer

    3/5
I absolutely loved this microwave, it has great features, looks smart and is so simple to use. I say “loved” because we only had it two and a bit years and it all of a sudden kept tripping. We changed the fuse, then the internal fuse, then the door switch (which I had to order from the US) and each time it worked for a week or so and then would go again. It seems such a waste to throw away such a new microwave. I am gutted too as it wasn’t a cheap one. I expected better from Samsung and am sad to be writing a negative review.

Pros and cons of this model.

    3/5
A small size but fine for single person. Easy to use though you have to find the full instructions on line. The combi function, which was the main reason for buying this model, is poor as the grill elements has a low output. when cooking frozen chips, the microwave gives a good account but they don't crisp up as expected.Has a heatwave function that uses the grill to give heating, but this not recommended for cooking from frozen.

Looks good but not totally happy

Not happy that you don’t actually see inside the microwave while it’s working. Apart from that’s its ok. Also I prefer to choose the time and this one you need to choose 30 sec and then add whatever you want while it’s already working.

    Complicated controls

Had it a few months now and don't like it. You had to input food weights into my past microwaves but this just has default settings. It has a brief guide just inside the door but you need a magnifying glass to read it. Got fed up with it and just tend to stick everything on the baked potato setting. Perhaps it's me being a poor cook. And as others have said, the interior light is pointless as you can't see thru the door.

    It looks the part

I bought this Samsung microwave oven in March. It looks great and easy to work if you’re a rocket scientist! The basic features are fine, which is all I need really so I’m pleased with it. However if you want to use everything be prepared to read all the manual and keep it to hand to keep referring to.
