you get less than you pay for

After 18 months, the front glass exploded. The oven wasn't being used at the time. People were in the room but luckily not near it when it blew - glass went everywhere. They were obviously very shocked. After a lot of effort e.g. posting on Facebook twitter etc, Whirlpool came out and replaced the glass. If you look this up, it's quite common. The design of the door means that the handle is solely supported by the glass. 15 months after that, the fan element has broken. Unfortunately, the screws on the fan surround have entirely rusted and become part of the surround, so cannot be removed without major work. It's therefore a write-off. A very expensive and frustrating experience. Also, the silver paint on the knobs rubbed off soon after purchase.

Grill Issue but Excellent Service from AO

    1/5
We had recently moved house and the oven in our new house was an Indesit, so when it went wrong we decided to replace like for like. The oven seemed ok but it had one drawback that we noticed after a while. The issue was that the grill turned off and back on all by itself. I checked this twice visually and with the use of the smart meter readout and timed using the oven clock - grill turned on and after 12mins we heard a click (very much like a relay) and the grill turned off, after 4 mins it turned back on, then 7min later again a click and it turned off. The indicator light stayed on all the time. This of course made cooking a meal very difficult and lead to under cooked chops before we realised what was happening. We assumed this was a fault with the oven and so we called AO and they called Indesit and we joined a 3 way phone call. The Indesit engineer stated that from 2019 this was a feature in all Indesit ovens (and I believe he said also in Hotpoint ones as well). He would / could not explain why the design had been changed. Also he could not explain why Indesit had not amended the instruction manual or at least printed an addendum in the 18 months to 2yrs that this change had been made. AO were very good and fully understood why we wished to return the Indesit oven. We ended up buying an AEG oven as a replacement and we were very happy with the deal that we came to with AO over this. We have shopped with AO a number of times and this experience just reinforced how good their customer service is. We would definitely buy from AO again and would recommend them to anybody who asked.

    Awful product

Absolutely awful purchase. Grill turns off when you’re cooking. You have to wait for it to cool down before you can restart cooking. Engineer called who said it’s an inbuilt design. Nothing in instruction manual to advise this happens. Certainly wouldn’t have bought it if I had known this as it’s impossible to cook with grill. Now trying to return it it’s so bad. Don’t buy!!

    Worst oven I ever purchased

    1/5
Bought this oven to replace an old Indesit 10 years + that had been a great product. When I put this in place we observed the the grill element drooped either side but assumed it was ok. In use the grill would only work on full power for 5-7 minutes before it cut itself off for 5 minutes. The indesit repair guy said its because it did have 50mm of space on all sides! its a grill to front is open. Also how do you make this space on all sides, maybe it can float? The oven was weak in temperature and all cooking had to be down at none fan oven levels to finish cooking anywhere near to normal cooking times. Then more recently the oven stopped working and tripped the house electrics. Final straw I hate this cheap nasty product. Best part about this oven is that the scrap metal man has just taken it away after a year. Spend more buy something decent is my advice.

    Product broke within a year

Within one year of installation and use (just over one year since we bought the product since we had a new kitchen fitted) the fan motor broke, causing the filament to overheat, rending the fan over useless. An independent engineer advised of the faults, and also that replacement parts were not available as the product was so new and should not go wrong this quickly. After contacting Indesit, they refused to provide replacements parts unless their engineers carried out the repair at a minimum charge of £120. Disgusted by the customer service received and would not recommend using this company again.

    PLEASE BEWARE

The oven drips and leaks condensation and has ruined the cupboard and housing of my kitchen which has only been installed three months. Obviously a fault with these ovens as I have read other reviews on other company sites with customers having similar problems.

    Waste of money

Will take more than 3 times the average oven to cook the food, must leave on full heat to cook very basic food for very long time and then you get burnt top and raw in middle.will not recommend.
