    Totally Irritating

    1/5
Well, I first gave a positive review for this which I bought two years ago as it seemed OK. During that time though, it has become increasingly irritating right up to today - when I've ordered a Hotpoint Hob to replace it. It works exactly as the manual says it should - but is the most irritating piece of kit I've ever come across. It has sensors that detect whether something has been put on the hob that shouldn't be there which sounds great, except that this sees water and cleaning marks as things that shouldn't be there, beeps, flashes fault signs then shuts itself down. Today I've just been mulling some wine - the shadow from the electric steamer was across the hob - it saw it as an obstruction and so shut down no less that three times until I realised what was going on and turned the hood light on to prevent it. Absolutely irritating - I guarantee that you will come to hate it. Don't buy it !!!!!!!!!!!!

    What a load of rubbish

Keeps switching on the child lock for no reason, and you have to jump though hoops whilst singing and holding several buttons at once to get it to turn off. Takes ages to switch on (when it feels like it). if pan spills over, the controls wont work, which is precisely the time when you need them to! I'm thinking of changing it, even though it's only a few months old. For the sake of your sanity, dont buy this appliance. It's easy to clean; thats the only good thing about it! Buy something else, get a gas hob, not electric.

    worst purchase ever

Very complicated to work, the hotplate controls rely on timings and not temperature to control when to switch of,eg. setting 1. on time 1.4 sec. off time 45.6 sec. The hotplate dosent heat up enough to cook anything. You do Have a boost setting which keeps the hotplate on for longer eg. setting 1. on time 60 sec. off time 45.6 sec. but then reverts back to the normal setting. You have to keep looking at the table in the handbook to try and guess which setting will cook the food without burning or taking forever to cook.

Not terrible - but not that good either...

    2/5
It's ok....at best. Slow to heat up on anything other than the large double ring setting on 9 (and then slow to moderate back down to a simmer). Buttons are heat sensitive so susceptible to objects (cold or hot) being placed on or near to them. Lock function requires a bit of getting used to. It's just all a bit budget....but that is exactly what we needed at the time and it serves it's purpose well enough. Spend a bit more if you can. Very easy to clean.

    Hob & Oven

I find it takes a longer and have to turn up high to get it going more than my previous cooker, also the same with oven my cooker was over 14 years old and much quicker and efficient.
