    Noisy and a rubbish grill

    1/5
I've had this oven for 2.5 years and have been grumbling about it to myself that whole time. This morning it got the better of me to the point I've felt compelled to write a review. 1. The fan oven is really noisy, sounds like a hovercraft or ferry - a sort of two tone hum. It blows out very cold air from the top into the room, which is not welcome, especially in winter when I'm trying to keep my kitchen warm. 2. Once the oven is turned off it continues to hum and whirr, it is loud and distracting and sounds like a plane cooling down it's engines. Again, not welcome, especially since I have a dining kitchen so pretty much the whole while we're eating, the oven is 'cooling down' very noisily. 3. The grill is absolutely xxxx!!!!! It rarely heats the entire element - usually just the outer edges, so if I'm toasting bread I have to place the slices right at each edge, so really can only toast 2 slices at a time, and it takes about 10 damn minutes! Occasionally the whole element will turn red, and it toasts the bread quickly and evenly - but this is rare and there is no obvious reason as to why it would do this. On these occasions, I turn only the on/off dial to 'off' and leave the grill setting as it is, in case it is sooooo sensitive that I have to have placed it within a fraction of a milimetre of the setting on the dial - not so, next day I'll turn the on dial on and whaddya know, it only heats half the element. 3. There is no handle for any of the tray things, so it's oven gloves always. And there is no grill for the pans, so have to toast the bread on the racks, so all the crumbs constantly falling to the floor of the oven. 4. Because there's no grill pan, I have to move the rack to the very top rung to toast, in the morning, and then when using the oven, have to move the racks back down so I've got room to put things on the shelves - a faff and the racks make a horrible screeching noise when pulling them in and out. 5. I daren't wipe the front with anything but a dry cloth or paper towel, especially not the markings for the dials because they look like they'll wipe off in any sort of cleaning agent is used, or even just water or anything abrasive! I daren't test that theory but this has happened in the past on another appliance so am super careful now. 6. The pyroclean is 'ok' (I bought this model for that function). But it's a faff to take the side rack things off, it generates a HUGE amount of smoke which in turn sets all my smoke alarms off, even with every single door and window open and it's a large space. And it turns the edges of the oven black, taints the racks and doesn't do much for the glass on the front, which is just a kind of burnt window now. I'll now flick over to the hob review - just as disappointed with that! A load of old tosh - bosch!

Glass panels are not suitable for this product.

    1/5
Very disappointed with this product. After only a few weeks of use, I dropped a small baking tray on the internal glass panel of the door and the internal panel smashed, meaning that the oven can not be used until I buy and install a new and very expensive glass panel. The vertical sides of the glass are not protected and the glass is clearly not of a strength suitable for this use.

    Disappointing

White it is a good oven it’s longevity is poor. We have using this oven for just over 2 1/2 years and already the seal is frayed, melted in places and coming away from its casing. The light also stopped working when you’re cooking, so you have to open the oven door. Also up to now we have not been able to move the oven door to clean it instructions are poor and videos online relate to a different model. Now we have removed it. We actually can’t get it back on and now have to have a very expensive engineer visit and a 2 1/2 week wait. It really doesn’t stand up to its price point.

    Not really a self cleaner

    2/5
Product information is not as clear as we thought, self cleaning is something one does every 2 to 3 months, not something one does to keep the oven clean. Also AO.com workers took away the plug and wire off the old cooker or the new cooker! So this makes it very difficult to all the old one without a cable

    A step back in time

    2/5
Appalling cooker! hard to see control indications, just like scratches on the metal. Have to go on hands and knees almost to read settings. the most used temperature settings are underneath the control knob. The timer setup again hard to see and operate, When setting the oven temperature, you wait for the indicator to go out, you should then put the food in to be cooked however we were not getting good results with the food. After buying an oven thermometer and checking the indicated food in time we found that we had to wait up to 15 minuets more for the selected chosen temperature to be finally indicated on the check thermometer. Very poor design standard from Bosch.

    Coming up to Snuff

    2/5
Good looking oven and quite refined, but having started to use it, it has become apparent that by the two hundred centigrade mark, it is running at some twenty degrees below the set temperature. Yes, it is possible to turn it up and I have phoned Bosch who say that they are aware that there may be a discrepancy of about fifteen degrees.... Fifteen-twenty; for an expensive machine from a reputable company, I think I expect rather more precision Don't you? CW

Annoying nagging beep that can't be turned off!

    3/5
Cooks well but has a major design drawback. It beeps continuously once cooking has finished. It won't stop nagging you until you open the door. Really annoying as you can't just microwave something and leave it in there until you're ready to use it. I've searched the Bosch help pages and various forums and there seems to be no way to stop this. It's annoying the whole family. Also, the interface is clunky and requires extra steps compared to most microwaves - you have to turn it on first as, unlike most, it doesn't start up when you just press the Start button from standby. I have a large household so have 2 microwaves & find myself avoiding using this one.

    Poor Customer Service

    3/5
We had problems removing the door immediately after delivery. It took a week to resolve this with a number of phone calls and messages to customers services. Although I explained the drawings in the manual didn't represent the hinge mechanism, there solution was to give me a link to the identical manual. Eventually I was sent a drawing, different to the manual, with the locking clip circled. Everything is now operational but I think the door locking mechanism is likely to be damaged if any attempt is made to close the door or hinges when the locking clips are closed.
