Quiet, sleek looking and very efficient.

Going from an old dryer, which I had for over 10 years, this Samsung model is a massive leap. The first thing to note is that the machine has a water tray. At first I thought that was odd but it is because this is used to collect the water from the clothes while drying after they have been washed. You also have the option to connect the waste water pipe to a waste outlet, similar to how you would connect up a washing machine. This takes over from the water tray if connected. Operation of the machine is a simple affair. Tune the dial to whichever setting you require and off you go. There is also a timed option should the preprogrammed settings are not to your own requirements. Oh, and I should also mention that the machine, once it has completed the cycle, will play a little tune when it's done. And if that isn't enough, how about a direct notification to your phone? It is WiFi enabled and works with Samsung's own Smart things software via my Samsung phone. (Disclaimer: I don't know if it works with other devices like iPhone or iPad). I'm not sure how the technology works but what I do know is that it is way more efficient than my old machine. Being triple A rated it shows a difference in power consumption and I am yet to see my smart meter display flick into the red zone while the machine is in operation, much like my old unit prior. Instead it hits the orange zone so like for like, this machine is definitely more energy efficient. When the machine is running it is fairly quiet. I believe it uses some kind of technology to gauge the load and make its operation more smooth, for want of a better word. Older type dryers just start off by spinning in one direction, pausing for a second or two before spinning in the opposite direction. This would continue to happen until the timer ran down to zero. With this Samsung dryer it spins a couple of times first before continuing its cycle. The machine will then proceed to dry the clothes accordingly and it will do it well. The clothing, once dry, comes out feeling much better in this machine than in my old one. They don't seem to be as rigid, if that is the best description, but instead feel softer to the touch. I know they definitely iron much easier than before. Overall I can say that I am very happy with my purchase. The machine is quiet, efficient and it looks good too. The WiFi aspect doesn't bother me so much as I only operate the machine when I'm home but at least it is an option I could use should I forget to turn it on when I nip out.

    Clothes not dry

Lots of different programmes but clothes always damp when cycle finished

Good dryer that is quicker than expected

Early days but seems to dry fairly quickly for a heat pump dryer. Only four stars as it is a little noisier than I would have hoped.

Good on first impression, quiet and efficient but time will tell.

Only had this dryer for a short time, a week or so. I like the look of it and the colour and it fits the space well and does not protrude out as much from the wall as I thought it might. My first impressions on use are that the control symbols are not that easy to see against a dark grey background and the door does not shut with a definite click which makes me shut it and then shut it again to make sure it's properly closed! I have used it only a few times so far as I am trying to use tumble drying as little as possible in any case but it seems to dry efficiently, is very quiet and laundry comes out feeling soft and not too creased but I haven't tried out many programs yet. I am hoping that over time I will use the diffeent programs and figure out my optimal use with it and this winter will be the test, it will be interesting to see if its reduced energy impact lives up to its promise and how it will affect my electricity bill.

    Good dryer, lacking instructions

    4/5
Really like this dryer. Dries well with minimal creasing, fluffs towels up nicely, and quite quiet. A double filter too which means less rubbish going through the system. Wish the instructions were a bit more detailed though, as I can’t work out all the functions yet. Plays a tune when it’s finished drying. That could get old.

    Great, energy efficient but slow

    4/5
appliance looks great and energy rating is great - the flipside of that is it takes e.g., 3 hours for a cycle to go through. not normally an issue. am sure there's an emergency high-energy setting if you need to dry something quickly - just need to go through the manual!

    Great quiet washing machine

Looks great, very easy to use and clear display. Only wish for it would be to change the volume of the song when it finishes (you probably can but I haven't figured it out yet). Washes great and very quiet when washing.
