I have given 4 stars for this reason. The hob2hood chimney itself so far great, a little noisy on the 4th speed which is understandable as it is very powerful. No problems on using it. The only problem was the installation book was very poor to follow, the instructions were very vague. The other thing is on AO,com web page where I got my cooker hood from says you need a ducting tube for external use but nothing about recirculating. Well you need it for both external and recirculating. You will need to purchase it yourself. You only need a short piece as most places do long pieces which is not what you need, ours was 350mm and even at that we had spare we only used 200mm. I got mine of Ebay , so I would advise you to shop around because the price difference is a lot. I paid just under £9.00 that includes delivery, other places were priced at £19,00 plus onwards and add delivery on top. Other wise the staff who I contacted for help on AO.com were fantastic and very helpful and the cooker hood is brilliant I love it. I hope this is helpful to anyone who is buying one. I myself would highly recommend the AO.com as this is the second thing I have had from them.

Only been using a week but very pleased with the brightness of the lights, the hob to hood and volume of extractor. Light comes on immediately you switch on hob ( my builder enjoyed playing with this, sorry demonstrating it) and then extractor if needed. Ours doesn’t vent outside.

Bought this as our previous one had stopped working, can nit fault AEG products we have all AEG in our kitchen and will not use another brand can not complain such good quality products

We purchased this chimney hood to go with a new AEG cooker. We wanted the ‘hob to hood’ compatibility and this fitted the bill at a very good price from AO. As others have commented, fitting instructions are at best vague, but thankfully my partner was able to figure it out! I would also confirm that you do need a short length of ducting even when it’s intended for use in recirculating mode. Having said all that, the hood looks smart and the hob to hood technology works brilliantly. It’s plenty quiet enough and the led lighting is excellent. Very happy, thank you.

Slightly more complicated to fit than initially thought. Instructions don't tell you minimum distance between ceiling and hood, only distance between hood and hob. Works really well with AEG hob. Integrated back draft damper could be more robust as I broke it on installation, but I fitted an additional one inline. Overall, very happy with appliance and would recommend.
