    Style over Substance

    2/5
The good - heats up fairly quickly cooks very nicely. Although no faster than our previous 8 year old oven, although I would guess it is probably more efficient. It looks lovely, a nice steel and glass finish. No harder to clean than any oven However it has three major design flaws. Two irritating and one potentially dangerous. The first irritating one is the settings are printed in grey on the sides of the silver dials, so nearly impossible to see in anything other than bright light. and as the dials are quite high my fairly average height 5'6" wife cannot see the top of the dial so has to guess its in the right position. Secondly the shelves all have a lip making it difficult to slide dishes/plates onto, and impossible to slide them off. Not a major problem if your dish has a handle. very difficult if it doesn't (pizza or baking tray for instance). Thirdly and more dangerously while you are cooking when you open the main oven door the fan blows a cloud of scalding hot steam directly in your face. This has scalded the face and hands of three users so far. We would not consider an AEG oven again.

    Don’t buy

Bought with new kitchen, to replace my previous 26yr old AEG double oven, which I loved from the beginning hence choosing AEG again. This oven is badly designed settings are on the side of knobs very difficult to see, I am disabled and find standing on a stool to set dials difficult. The main oven has yet to cook a cake to my satisfaction, I like to bake and have a reputation for good cakes this oven has not made one in 4/12 since I bought it Awaiting second engineer visit.

oven very good but only slight fault if oven fitted in middle of unit with knobs above eye level, oven positions and temperatures are hard to read on the side of the pop out knobs

Knobs are impossible to read. Whoever designed this must have lost their mind. You need to stand on something to see them and even then they are barely indistinguishable. AEG should replace this with a sticker to place over them on the oven unless they don't want people to ever buy this oven

    Excellent overall

Plus: Gets to cooking temp very quickly Cooks evenly 3 shelves in main oven Good looking unit Minus: Shelves have a lip on them that can make it difficult to slide food in and out of oven Beeper a little quiet maybe. Excellent t overall though.

    Great cooker. Minor design issue

This cooks beautifully. What lets it down is the design of the controls which are viewed from above to read the settings. Not great in a unit designed to be placed up high and not ground level.

    Good looking product...

Temperature should have digits on the face of the knob not on the side.

    Mixed bag....

The oven does the job, and has provided a suitable replacement to my previous faulty unit. 2 issues for me: 1. As others have said, the controls are difficult to read, I'm 6ft tall and still struggle to easily see the temperature I'm setting the over at. It won't be any good for smaller people. 2. The shelves aren't flat, they have a bevel/recess in them which oven trays sit inside, and are difficult to get out with an oven glove on. I've burnt my hand a few times now, and I've only had the oven a month.
