    Disappointed

    1/5
I have purchased a number of smeg items in the past and some through AO - all of which have been flawless, up until now. The item was described as being wired for UK power, but came with a European plug with a uk adaptor (not ideal for long-term use). The logo was cracked and looked unofficial. When I tried to enquire, I was only told that I could replace the item, but no more smeg’s in stock. I still question if it is official. Very unhappy with this product.

    Decent, but could be better

Overall a very nice compact chest freezer, with a few little oversights. For its size, the capacity is great & it's simple to use. The controls being on the top behind the lid make a big difference because there's no risk of knocking them with your foot or carrier bags & accidentally changing the temperature. The lid itself opens smoothly & has soft stops to hold it in place. It includes a small (half width) basket which is basic but not bad; holes in the grid perhaps a little large. The door seals are very good, with thick rubber, and the inside of the door fits down into the top of the compartment which provides a bit of extra insulation. The compressor & reservoir are at the bottom rear of the unit so there's a step on the inside to allow space for them, & the interior is covered with aluminium (which does seem to frost up more than plastic but also provides more even cooling). As for the downsides, there's no thermometer to show you the temperature so I had to get a third party one & hang it in the basket. The underside of the edges of the case are extremely sharp, so don't go putting your hands anywhere near that when moving unless you have a pair of heavy duty gloves on (though the rest of the unit is finished very nicely). There's also no way to drain it when defrosting, when some kind of stoppered outlet would have been a nice extra. The omission seems common for chest freezers though. In terms of efficiency it's very good, using a little power every so often when needed but with no runaway compressor action that constantly draws power, & it's quiet in operation too. Overall I'm happy with it & expect it to last for a long time.

    Sneh Chest freezer

This is a replacement of a chest freezer I’ve had for around 15 years nothing was wrong with previous other than the rubber seal had gone but thought I’d just get a new one which is bigger.. I’m sooo pleased with the size and the fact that the controls are at the back and on top so don’t have to bend down to check which is a good feature, it’s also very quiet I have to keep checking it’s on. Customer service is great too, response to my query was dealt with on same day will definitely be purchasing from AO again and recommending *****’s all the way

    Excellent value/ quiet running

    5/5
First time I’ve owned a chest freezer and was looking for something to easily fit into a small space in the kitchen. Very pleased with it, quiet running, fast freeze ideal for big supermarket shop. I can now buy all those reduced items that I’ve previously seen but haven’t been able to fit in my fridge freezer, hopefully will save money in the long term. Overall very good value for money.

    Well priced and working well.

    5/5
As part of our Great Kitchen Makeover, we needed a compact but capacious freezer to use as an overspill for our normal under counter freezer. A good sized chest freezer was what we needed and I was attracted to this one by a combination of the Smeg brand reputation, large capacity and feature set. It was well priced considering the SMeg name although many cheaper rivals were available. The freezer was lighter in weight and construction than I was expecting, but that is not necessarily a disadvantage, but surprising considering the heavy-duty build quality of most Smeg appliances. It is a nice size at H86 x W54 x D61cm and although there are smaller chest freezers out there, few could match the 104 Ltrs freezing capacity for the size of the body. Inside the freezing compartment, all looked good inside with a large internal shelf (presumably to house the freezing mechanism) with the bottom of the compartment a good stretch to reach. On the top is a veg basket which can be removed or slid from side to side as required. There is a control panel facing forward at the back of the freezer with large coloured LEDs for Power, Alert, and Fast Freeze, the LEDs are rather dim and hard to see if they are on in strong daylight. The green Power LED confirms the device is working, the red Alert LED tells you if the internal temperature is too high, and the orange Fast Freeze LED confirms that Fast Freeze is in operation. Next to the LEDs is a well marked rotary dial to set the temperature. The main feature of interest is the Fast Freeze mode. This is used to quickly freeze newly inserted non-frozen items up to 2Kg in weight or to otherwise quickly bring the temperature down. Using the device is as simple as you might expect although the instructions say to run the device for at least 20 hours initially before freezing food. It does take a while to get down to operating temperature during which time both the green and red LEDs should light up. Remember to fit the two rear spacers into the grill on the back of the freezer before positioning it. That is all there is to it. Time will tell just how well it works but so far after a few days of use all the family are really happy with it.

    Excellent Smeg Freezer

    5/5
Recently purchased the Smeg Freezer from AO. This was really easy to install and appears to be really well made. It is a bit smaller than originally thought it would be but it is really quiet and freezes every quickly. The temperature controls are at the back but at the top of the freezer which is easy to adjust and view. It also comes with an internal basket which is useful. So far we are really pleased with the Smeg Freezer, especially the prompt delivery of the machine.

    Nice and compact

    5/5
Nice and compact but it can hold 3 lceland bags of food. The rear shelf above the compressor can hold 9x boxes verticality mounted of frozen fish, beef, chicken burgers, sausage roll and fish fingers. In front of the shelf more then 10x 14" 360mm pizzas verticality mounted. Then sit a full bag of veg on top.
