    Smeg symphony cooker

    1/5
Not as well performed as imagined, overall very complicated to use and had a few scratches on the cooker and baking tray missing. Informed customer service was offered some help but very pleased for as for £1100 and for Smeg brand would experience better. Very unhappy with overall performance and cooler.

    Oven bulb massive problem

    2/5
It cooks nicely, the hob works well, and is reasonably easy to clean, The oven cleaned on the P setting. Happy with that. The oven light bulb went out after about 6 weeks, I ordered a box of 4 from Amazon, read the SMEG instruction booklet on bulb changing.... got a screwdriver, seems I was tucked behind the whole frame, not just the glass, it's where the screwdriver found, I was wearing a headtorch for visibility, which is what I wear in my day job as an Audi Master Technician, so the light frame is badly engineered, thankfully I noticed and forced the screwdriver in between the glass and the frame, when the glass popped out, the insulation crumbled to nothing on the floor of the oven. So that is now useless. I had to insert three bulbs before one finally stayed alive whilst refitting the rack support, which has to clip in somewhat violently (it's slightly out of alignment) causing 2 bulbs to blow. On the third attempt I literally treated it like a 5 week old kitten, and kept the bulb live. I notice that it's impossible to remove the glass with a screwdriver, as instructed without damaging the oven wall. I have been delighted with this appliance up until today, I accepted the bulb blowing so soon as one of those things.

    Quality and good looks

    4/5
Quality item. Bought to fit 700mm gap and available power supply, 15amp. Oven control a bit too complicated for my liking, does too many things. Gas burners are very effective. Controls could be better illuminated as they are vertical with the symbols a bit too low and difficult to see, I'm tall and old. The gas pipe connection type and location is different to every other cooker I've had which meant having it altered as well as connected. However gas fitter said it wasn't unusual.

    Good cooker

    4/5
Great cooker. Choice is limited at this size which pushes the price up, but despite that we are very happy with it.

    Great dual fuel cooker!

    4/5
Great looking cooker. 5 good sized burners and a storage compartment beneath the oven for baking trays. Huge oven. Exactly what we want!

    Excited to start using

Looks amazing. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I haven’t yet practised enough (I’m new to an electric oven) to rate the ovens performance Really wish it came with a guide to all the oven program symbols

Replaced my old 15 year old Stove Cooker

    4/5
Very impressive design. The oven heats up very quickly (compared to my old 15 yr old cooker), so pre-heating the oven is easy. Solid construction, so hopefully will last. Easy to use, & the burner rings very efficient & the oven size is more than enough for my needs. Tried out the oven self-clean function, burn't away any food residue previously there. However, this takes up a large amount of electricity (2 to 3.5 hour+ cycle at 500 C). The temperature of the oven doesn't totally match the selected temp, so worthwhile investing in an oven thermometer. Oven draw is very handy for storage of baking trays etc. Not a cheap product, but provided it works for 15years, I consider it value for money.
