    Very pleased with my purchase

    5/5
I had to replace my old diswasher as it died just after Christmas - they seem to know the most inconvenient time to go! Not being exactly loaded at this time of year I looked for the least expensive replacement I could find. I was a little put off by some reviews - they mentioned minor issues, but I went ahead anyway & I'm very glad I did. Whilst I would never presume to question the validity of other reviewers' findings, my own differ somewhat. The machine arrived following AO's usual excellent attention to detail & efficient delivery which was free as we were prepared to wait for a few days for deluvery. I installed the machine (I'm not paying good money for someone else to unpack it & connect it to a cold outlet!) & gave it an initial look over. Firstly I couldn't discern any difference in quality of finish or the guage of metal used for its cabinet to any other dishwasher I've owned including my previous Bosch. The lines of the machine were also very similar to German machines, nice square angles - very pleasing to the eye. The door opened smoothly, latched firmly upon closing & felt very solid. You shouldn't really need the operating instructions to run the machine as the front controls are obvious & easy to figure out, but I glanced at the booklet supplied (they're readily available online too from several sources) just to be sure. I loaded the machine with dirty plates & pans, less food debris, added a standard Aldi all in one dishwasher tablet & set the machine to the minimum 30 minute cycle. If you pull out the bottom draw with it fully (& in my case usually carelessly) loaded, too quickly or a bit roughly, yes it CAN unbalance & come off the door runner. But I've found this to happen with every dishwasher I've owned . The wire draws & cutlery holder on this Electra dishwasher were no different in guage, quality or finish to its predecessor - which was nearly double the price of this one, about eight years ago. The machine ran at a noise volume you'd expect in my opinion. When the "end" light came on I opened the door ajar for 20 minutes as recommended to aid faster drying, then checked my dishes. The pans, plates & glasses were very clean, dry & streak free - the tupperware items had water droplets on them - which I'd expect on plastic. Ok, yes, you can buy machines that pop the door open themselves when finished to aid drying but certainly not at this price. Also, any machine I've ever owned, be it Bosch, AEG or this one, will end up with wet plates if you leave them in the machine for hours after its finished. They dry with heat, the interior of the machine cools down, maybe to very cold if left overnight in a kitchen in winter - & of course you get condensation on the washed items. My trick is to always attend to the dishes on completion of the cycle - or put up with having to dry one or two items that may be wet if they've been left. It's a minor inconvenience compared to washing up by hand after a party! I've been using the machine a while now. It's given consistently excellent results even on it's minimum cycle. It feels strong & solidly made. You get a twelve month guarantee which you have option to extend upon registration if you wish. I'd recommend this Electra dishwasher to anyone requiring an ordinary & straight forward machine. If the price I paid for it reflects what it's worth, all I can say is, some offerings from other manufacturers must be very overpriced!

Very good AO Customer support with faulty product.

Great price, but electronics failed after two weeks. AO Customer Services were first class and we paid a bit more for a better (we hope) machine being delivered tomorrow. NOTE: Make sure you take a note or photo of the serial number of any appliance because you will need it if making a claim. It is not on the receipt or manual. The Electra number was on the back, yes the worst possible location, not so well done whoever thought of that idea.

Not perfect but not bad for the price.

As a bottom end of the price range item this performs well enough. Time delay choices of 3, 6 or 9 hours and enough temperature settings for most purposes including a longer eco cycle. There's a half load setting too. I did have a couple of instances of tablets not dissolving but this seems okay now. The instructions say don't use tablets or sachets on short cycles, but try finding loose powder or dishwasher liquid in supermarkets nowadays - good luck! If I have a reservation it's the stacking racks. Fine for plates, but (for me, anyway) hopeless for bowls, which don't seem to fit into the shape of the racks, especially above the upper spray arm mounting. They just keep falling over, however carefully you put them in. The top rack is adjustable to a lower position. This was a piece of cake on my old Hotpoint, but is so awkward on the Electra as to be not worth the trouble. Someone else has mentioned the inadequacy of the instructions and I agree with this. You can find a more detailed leaflet on line but the definition in the illustrations is quite poor. This sounds like a catalogue of complaints, but it's just meant to give a clear idea of a few drawbacks. Overall, it does a good enough job and though there are some negative aspects I would recommend it as good value at the price.

    Doesn't clean properly

    1/5
Please don't buy this dishwasher. We bought it Jan 2022 as a replacement to our 23 year old machine which we could no longer get spare parts for. What a mistake. We've persevered with it, thinking we haven't used it properly but we wish we'd sent it back under warranty and bought something that might work better. It doesn't clean the contents efficiently, there is always something left on the items in both of the shelves and there is always a weird smell. We've tried doubling the detergent but it makes no difference, we've used lots of dishwasher cleaners to take away the smell, this works for a short while, but it doesn't last long. We think the problem lies with the fact that the dishwasher doesn't wash away the initial deposits on the crockery before letting the detergent tablet in to the machine. Your instructions say don't prewash crockery to save water but we have ended up having to wash several items after they've come out of the dishwasher! Not good.

    Issue with drying items

    3/5
Great price for a full size dishwasher. Multiple settings and good space inside, however, this dishwasher has issues with drying, especially when washing on low temperatures. Dishes and cups are soaking wet, even hours after the wash has finished so found I need to hand dry each item. If you only wash on high temps then there is no issue, but for this reason, I have exchanged this for a different model. I think for slightly more money, you can buy better.

Replaced my old dishwasher with exactly the same product as it is a very good make and product. Very good quality.

Pay a bit more & get the Indesit

I returned it. It doesn’t dry and leaves things covered in water so you have to put it in the draining board. Doesn’t clean properly. To fit glasses in the top rack you have to lower the top rack but in doing so the arm doesn’t spin without hitting knives and chopping boards in the bottom rack!
