Aesthetically pleasing - but positivity ends there...

    3/5
Got this to replace my 10 yr old stove double oven. Aesthetically it is pleasing and better than the old, but any other comments are negative. The new oven grill is less effective ( also being electric) and takes time to heat up whilst my older oven grill was instantaneous. Further , the new oven grill pan doesn't have a handle?! Both top and bottom ovens are now gas. There is no indication that the oven is on other than the internal light , which by the way does not illuminate when you use the grill? So it's quite dark whilst using the grill. Overall its OK but I really did expect it to be an improvement on my last, which though new and smart looking, its not. Rather disappointed.

    Looks great!

Was realt impressed when first delivered oven space impressive, love the sliding shelves and the electric grill is very handy. but the top glass panel has come off after 2 weeks Stoves are coming out to repair but a little disappointed in that but if this had not happens I would have given it 5 stars!

    Clean and classy.

    4/5
Has a clean and classy look to it. Thanks to measuring before ordering fitted perfectly. As fairly new, still getting used to the feel of the oven, ( bakers will know what I mean ). It is more flexible than my last oven as I now have a small and large oven, to play with. It does mean that I am having to learning for the first time how to grill with electric ! Very different from Gas, a small wait for heat, and I quickly realise moving the grill position itself works better than trying to reduce the level of heat from the elements. It's settings are clear and straight forward, in the older style of numbering, rather than temperature , just a small thing to look out for.

Not as good as the old one.

    4/5
I thought I wouldn't like the electric grill but I'm quite surprised by it. The downside is the grill pan and lack of handle. The pan does not slide easily and have reverted to the old grill pan as I kept hold of it. The clock is way too bright. No problems with the ovens, they do exactly what they should.

    Good but some disappointing issues

    4/5
Overall the double oven is fit for purpose although there are a few disappointing features. Although there is a light in both ovens which come on when the oven is in use the light does not come on when you use the grill. This seems ridiculous as it important to see how food is cooking under the grill. Neither oven doors open a full 90 degrees so it is not possible to rest trays on the open door. There is no illumination of the dials or indication when the set temperature has been reached, not essential but would be nice. I bought this oven to replace a 25 year old Stoves model of similar design. It is very noticeable that the new oven is of a much lower build quality using thinner and lighter materials. Despite the issues overall I am happy with the performance of both the ovens and the grill.

Excellent oven and fitting - but one major fail!

    4/5
This is, on the whole, a good product, a follow-on from an earlier Stoves model, which fits in well into our kitchen. The AO team installing it were efficient, polite and helpful. One detail: on this model there is no indicator when oven and small oven are up to desired temperature. A real miss by Stoves, as with prepared meals (and especially pizzas) it is essential to put them in at the right temperature to get the right result. So what I have done is use an oven thermometer to monitor the times in minutes and seconds at which the ovens reach gas levels 1 to 9. This may not be 100% accurate every time, but it's a great deal better than nothing. See below: UPPER OVEN TIMINGS LOWER OVEN TIMINGS 1: 5.10 1: 3.10 2: 6.00 2: 3.45 3: 6.30 3: 4.15 4: 7.50 4: 5.15 5: 8.30 5: 6.20 6: 9.15 6: 7.00 7: 10.50 7: 8.30 8: 12.15 8: 9.30 9: 23.15 9: 10.20 We contacted Stoves who confirmed that they'd not fitted this facility, and suggested running the ovens for 20 minutes to achieve heat. Any heat. A fanatic waste of gas especially in these times: as you will see from the above, that would mean wasting up to 14 minutes of gas!! Rob White.

    Excellent, but?

    4/5
The ovens and the grill are excellent and cook the food really well. The controls are easy to use, and the quality of the double oven is plain to see I must say however, that to ask the customer to pay for a much needed grill pan handle as an extra on top of the initial cost of the appliance is a bit of a cheek, especially as it is so easy to burn oneself trying to remove a hot grill pan from the top oven unit. I would have expected a grill pan handle to be supplied as standard with the grill pan on safety grounds at least. Come on Stoves, you are better than that. If the handle had been included, the oven would have got 5 stars from me.

    Back to Gas

    4/5
Great to have a gas oven back as I had replaced my previous gas oven with an electric one. Only gripe is that it has an electric grill instead of a gas one. However I knew this before purchasing but do feel that Stoves could improve it by making the grill gas as well. Only wish that Stoves would bring their Rotostar oven back as I had one previously and it was without doubt the best oven I have ever had!
