Cheap, no frills cooker, which works well.
5/5
This cooker is amazingly cheap, and you do have to bear that in mind in your expectations. Realistically it just isn't going to be a plush or well equipped as a cooker costing over twice as much, but if you bear that in mind what you will get with this model is a pretty decent cooker. It does the job pretty well, has no major flaws that I can see, and as such its a bit of a genuine bargain!
We had just moved in to a new house and we had budget for a new cooker when the old one failed. This cooker admirably comes to the rescue. It's A rated for energy usage. It has well chosen different burner sizes, so one can match the hob burner to pan size accurately. It has a rather basic mechanical timer - but it works.
The oven cavity also doubles as a grill but to use the grill for an extended period (anything longer than four or five minutes) it is necessary to fit a heat shield to prevent the control knobs becomming excessively warm. That said if the only use you make is to, for example a couple of minutes finish an ommlette - you can probably get away without it.
The oven itself only comes with one shelf, but it is a generous size and appears to cook fairly evenly. An extra shelf can be easily obtained for a few extra pounds, if you really need it.
All in all I would say that if you need a basic cooker, either as an emergency stopgap, as we did, or maybe to put into a rental property or suchlike this does the job pretty darn well, and the best bit is it won't break the bank! It even comes with a three year warantee! It seems reasonably solid, and I suspect that if I take care of it, I will probably still be using it in five or ten years time.
If you appreciate simplicity and dont want, or need all the bells and whistles this is highly recommended.
