A very good looking toaster that makes good toast! This toaster is expensive but that is clearly reflected in the build quality. Once you get used to the operation that’s different to most toasters; using the timer to to get the perfect toast takes a little practice but it’s worth the effort.

This is a cracking toaster- easy to operate with wide slots. I’ve also bought the toastie cage which allows you to cook toasted sandwiches. This is definitely a toaster for life. The one I bought from AO had scratches all over it, it was not brand new (a bit alarming when it is so expensive). However, following a phone call to AO after unpacking, it was resolved very quickly and I was satisfied with the outcome.

I don't agree with some reviews I'd read about this toaster not housing full size bread. I've spent years with a cheap toaster only toasting 3/4 of my bread - this one evenly does the lot. This is a big, heavy duty device for a kitchen - everything feels industrial, but finished beautifully (even if it doesn't quite match the copper kettle). The optional warming rack is a lot more useful than I thought it would be. The heat this thing belts out means items on it toast - which is very useful for things like rolls and scones. Toaster makes easy work of crumpets. My previous one needed a couple of goes with those. Kind of wish there was a way to reset the timer when you are done. Solution is to switch off at the mains, though it keeps ticking. Very old-school! (Literally - we had 6/8 slice versions of these beasts at my school).

A classic English designed and made iconic toaster. The copper sides add to the character and it adds style to any kitchen. They also last and replacing parts is simple.
