Overall this has been a good Iron, the reason for the low rating is I've only had the iron around a year and a half. Its just started spitting steam from the bottom of the base.... which should not be happening and the steam function no longer works on the actual iron. I know it's not the most expensive iron around, but I still expected it to last longer than 18 months. I had a basic steam iron for 6 years before this one that I bought for £12 from a supermarkets own brand variety... so for a Russell Hobs iron to break that quick is very disappointing.

This iron produces VERY good results - especially much better on denim material than my previous [good iron], which is hard to iron well. Results also excellent on cotton tops, so am very pleased. Dry ironing works well, and it will be good not to have to worry about limescale in this very hard water area. The sole plate of the iron is great! I just have to get used to replacing the iron on the generator whilst re-positioning ironing on the ironing board. The price was reasonable, given that many have higher costs, and I knew I could trust AO with delivery.

Tried my new Russell Hobbs steam generator today. Loving it.it steams well ,not too heavy .long steam cord and flex .which for me is a fantastic bonus,I can pop generator safely on floor while I iron.years ago with a previous make, the generator had to go on work top,it fell and broke .was absolutely gutted. This model has a place to tidy away your plug and a place to store the steam cord so it tucks away safely and is easier to store when not in use.all in all extremely happy with purchase .

Light weight and a little too compact, by this I mean when holding the iron handle, unless you have small hands your fingers (knuckles) touch the temperature dial causing it to move. Slightly annoying. The hose gets very hot when in use, which is not something I expected after using a different brand for many years and never experienced this. This unit has no carry handle or anyway of transporting it other than to grab the base, making tucking it away after use a delayed action waiting for it to cool down so it can be moved safely. The wire tidy feature on the side is useless as it’s too flimsy to be effective. I’ve never had a stainless steel face (soleplate) iron before and would not opt for another one, it’s not as smooth as a ceramic soleplate. The steam delivery is delayed, which is very inconvenient and annoying. Would I buy this iron after now had the chance to use it … no, but now I have purchased (and used) it, I’ll put up with it until it becomes too annoying and gets tucked away in a cupboard for good….. advice but a ceramic soleplate with a carry handle/feature.

Really disappointing. I bought this as a back up iron. It’s pretty useless. Waste of money.

I’ve been looking at quite a few steam generator irons and finally decided on this one! And I’m glad I did! As a first time user I am extremely happy! The iron heats up very quickly. Large water tank which the level had barely moved after an hour of ironing. Ironing time using this product reduced by around half! Would definitely recommend!

Good quality It is my first steamer iron and it is light and easy to use

I've been used to much more expensive steam generator irons in the past but I thought I would take a chance on a less expensive one. I'm happy to report that it actually irons extremely well and can definitely recommend it.
