    LPG hob installation

Find out everything you need to know about our LPG hob installation service.

Our fully trained team will get your new LPG hob installed and ready to go on your delivery day. We’ll even disconnect your old hob. Our team are Gas Safe registered, so you know our standards are high. We can even give you a gas certificate once everything is set up, just to say your hob has been checked and everything is A-okay. Give us a call if you’d like one and we’ll get the certificate sent over. Find out what’s included in this service and what you can do to prepare for us.

    What we'll do

We’ll get your new hob set up in no time. Here’s everything we’ll take care of.

    • We’ll give you a call before delivery day to ask some important questions and make sure everything is ready for when we arrive. So, keep your phone close by.
    • We’ll ask you to send a picture of your LPG tank or bottles, just so we can check everything is up to scratch.
    • Don’t worry about cables or tools. We’ll bring everything we need to get your new hob installed.
    • We’ll take at least 8 pictures during installation, just so we’ve got a record of the service.
    • Chosen our Remove & Recycle service? Then we’ll take away your old hob when we leave.

    What you need to do

There’s just a few things we need you to check before we arrive. We’ll talk you through everything on our pre-installation call.

Under the Key Information tab on our product pages, you can check whether your hob comes with an LPG kit. If it doesn’t, we’ll call you and put you through to the manufacturer so you can order the kit you need.

The space around your hob is called the Hot Zone and you need to make sure it’s free from switches, cooker hoods and anything flammable (so, no wallpaper). There needs to be a gap of at least 75cm between the hob and the cooker hood or ceiling above. If it isn’t clear of hazards, we may not be able to install your hob. Make sure you follow pre-installation instructions for your hob from the product manufacturer’s website.

The room your hob is going in will need direct ventilation outside. This can be through a cooker hood extraction or just a window.

Make sure your LPG tank has enough gas in it for us to check everything is working properly.

There’ll also need to be a 3-pin socket or cooker point (big red switch) within 1.5 metres of where your new hob is going.

Make sure your current electrical connection (plug socket or big red switch) matches what your new hob needs. If your new hob is over 3kw, then you’ll need a 16Amp or 32Amp fuse - a big red switch. If your new hob is below 3kw, then you’ll only need a standard 12Amp fuse – a regular plug socket.

Compare what you have with the details of your new hob on the Key Information tab on our product pages to make sure you’re all set.

While you’re on the Key Information section, it’s worth checking the dimensions of your new hob, just to make sure you’ve got enough space in your kitchen.

    What we don't cover

Here’s everything our installation service doesn’t cover.

    • We can make small adjustments like changing cables or switches to fit your hob, but we can’t remove anything in the Hot Zone or change any other part of your home.
    • Our LPG hob installation isn’t available at commercial properties, unless there’s a separate residential meter we can use.
    • The installation of cooking products is only available on certain days in certain postcodes. So, don’t be alarmed if delivery isn’t available for some time when you get to the basket or we speak to you over the phone.
    • We sometimes get asked to install LPG hob on boats (yes, we’re serious). Unfortunately, we only install appliances on land.
