First one we received was broken-AO replaced. Second one let out an unbearably loud noise-Smeg C.S's refused to help, saying it was 'unaccessible'....just because it had been installed, basically!!??!!--HORRIBLE. Had to find someone independent (very difficult), to work out the problem and sort it out. Then, even on the highest setting, this extractor hood extracts NOTHING!! (So you can forget what it says in the specs). i.e. USELESS, apart from the fact that........ It looks good and gives us lighting over the gas hob. But with the labour costs of making the vent channel and installing-(pig of a job) 2 hoods, and de-installing 1; this has cost us nearly double the price of the product alone. One of the worst purchases I've made.

AO are great and we've bought plenty through them, and this is the only product we've had a problem with. But this review is about this specific product, and Smeg. The first one was found to be damaged after installation, and so AO replaced it no problem. The second one let out an unbearably loud noise, and so we tried to get the support of Smeg C.S's, as it was of course well within warranty. However they refused to help, saying that it was 'unaccessible', because it had been installed, basically??!!??!! I spent hours trying to reason with them, having to put up with rudeness, including them putting the phone down on me (and AO), three times!!! Just how they are allowed to get away with it, is astonishing. Eventually, after weeks of searching, and therefore not being able to use the device, I found someone independently who managed to sort out the noise. (Which AO kindly gave us the money for). a stunnning extractor thats not only efficient but also nice to look at. an understated glam addition to any medium to large sized kitchen. ideal for anyone after a traditional look. easy to use and hubby says easy to install. win win situation.

Good lighting, Powerful extractor and Looks great does the JOB. The service was excellent, they were quick and efficient!

Product is excellent with a high extraction rate, looks amazing too. Delivered exactly when I wanted it, great service from AO.

Arrived damaged & is very noisey when running. Not overly impressed for the money. Really expected better from SMEG.
