Bought this laptop for uni, overall excellent build quality and good performance: especially the keyboard, speakers, and versatility. Some reviews noted screen wobble, this only happens when I place the laptop down on some surfaces. This doesn't occur when I type or use the laptop. I'd recommend this laptop for someone looking wanting an all rounder that can handle everything to a very good level. Pros: -Excellent build quality & sharp OLED screen with amazing refresh rate. -Excellent keyboard typing experience -Great speakers for the size, good webcam/mic for calls. -Good and versitile performance for gaming, professional and office work. -Overall the best 'all rounder' laptop of its class. Neutral: -The OLED screen has a 'gritty' texture against dark/grey backgrounds on certain apps. It's only noticeable on certain content if you stare at it, though I believe this is ASUS OLED care to prevent screen burn in. -Soldered RAM, you're stuck with 32GB but the modules are low power, ultra fast, and highly reliable. No doubt this will last for the lifetime of the unit. -Occasional buggy ASUS software that can crash or cause some items to stop working, though there are easy work arounds such as G-Helper. -Fans can kick in at random times on lighter tasks (BIOS update helped mitigate this factor). Cons: -Battery life is fine out of the box, around 4-5hrs with office tasks and battery care on (charges up to 80%). If you're around chargers a lot or use this as a desktop replacement, it's fine. There are settings you can tinker around with to improve it further.

The Asus G16 2024 is a seriously impressive gaming laptop. The CNC metal build feels premium and sturdy without being too heavy. The OLED 240 Hz HDR screen is absolutely stunning, with vibrant colors and no backlight bleed. The 2560x1600 resolution is crisp, making text and images look sharp. Plus, Nvidia G-Sync makes gameplay super smooth with no tearing. I love that it comes with Nvidia Advanced Optimus for easy GPU switching without needing a restart. However, if you want to use the extreme performance mode, which disables the iGPU, you will need to restart. Despite the GPU being limited to 125 Watts, the performance is fantastic, especially with DLSS 3.0 and frame generation. One downside is that the area above the keyboard gets really hot—almost to the point of burning your fingers. Fortunately, it’s not an area I usually touch. The keyboard is another mixed bag. It’s single-zone backlit, but the secondary keys aren’t well illuminated, making them hard to see in low light. For a laptop costing over £3000, I expected per-key RGB lighting. The webcam is quite disappointing, offering only 1080p at 30FPS. In 2024, and at this price point, I would have expected at least 60FPS FHD. The "Slash lighting" is also single-zone and offers limited effects. It feels like a gimmick, and I would have preferred better keyboard lighting and a higher-quality webcam instead. Overall, the Asus G16 2024 is fantastic in terms of build quality, display, and gaming performance, but the hot keyboard area, mediocre webcam, and poor key illumination are disappointments, especially for the price, but are workable.
