Good suction, but you will need a noise baffle if you want to actually converse with anyone whilst cooking! Also i love Miele, but the controls for this are in the most stupid and inconvenient place, you have to literally 'feel' to the right of the unit to turn on and use the lights. Very disappointed with this feature.
