I hadn't heard of a heat pump dryer before, but my vented one packed in and we needed something new. I opted for this one as it can be plugged in anywhere, no need for a vent/hose, so can be put anywhere in the house. So far I'm really pleased with it. It drys clothes well with options for different fabrics/items. And has a light indicator for the filters which is fantastic for me as I will forget to empty them if not prompted to do so. The water collection tank on the door is brilliant, as it is right where you can see it and its so easy to remove to empty. It's a little noisy compared to my old one, but all the pros out way that one con. I'm Really happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it.
