I love the range of tones, colours and brightness and its compact, unobtrusive, stylish appearance. One more than slight frustration is that it came without any set-up or usage instructions and has to be completely controlled via the Bluetooth smartphone app. I expected to be able to use the app but didn't realise it was the only means of operation. I also initially thought I'd been supplied with the wrong plug because the UK adaptor was hidden in the packaging and the tiny 2-page instruction booklet that was provided only showed a few diagrams by way of explanation, which detracted somewhat from the unboxing experience! Once plugged in and switched on, I couldn't turn it off except at the wall until I'd downloaded the app. To add to the confusion, I found there are 2 very similarly named apps in the Play Store: Hue and Hue Sync. Hue Sync requires a "Bridge", which costs more and is sold separately (and enables you to connect the appliance to Google Home or equivalent), but you could easily be mislead into thinking you can't control the lamp without also purchasing the Bridge. Fortunately, I eventually found the "Hue" app and managed to set it up. Now it's set up, I'm pleased with it, but I think they could provide better instructions.
