    Not as expected

    3/5
Not as good as expected takes far to long to preheat costing more on electric. The reel inside walls are quite badly stained after just two weeks and it get cleaned after every use. I also noticed the microwave deflector pad was broken inside but I had thrown out the packaging so cannot return.

    Panasonic microwave door problem.

The specification looks good but have had the item for less than a week and a serious 'crack' sound has developed when opening the door. Phoned Panasonic and told to go to distributor. Instructed not to comment on website or service.

    This microwave compared to Samsung

    3/5
We had a Samsung MC28M6055 before, but I broke it; according to Which? this NN-CT56JBBPQ Panasonic was a 'Best Buy' & rated higher than Samsung. We found the Samsung easy to operate and understand; very quiet to use. A'Hot Blast program' that was most useful, A mid shelf wire rack, and control keys that operated the choices of programs at one touch. This Microwave has no middle tray, we are not finding the instructions all that easy; control keys often need many 'touches' and presses to make them operate, ans,all in all, it does not seem as solid a build as the Samsung. We wonder why these 1000 watt Micro waves don't give a 900 W, and or, an 800 W choice, as these are the power choices that frozen food products.. give cooking times on, so we are left to 'guess' how long to microwave packaged foods. Otherwise, it does at least 'work', and just might be a long lasting machine.

Good, but could definitely be better.

Seeking a replacement for my much-missed previous combination oven which sadly expired in a cloud of noxious smoke a few weeks ago after 20 years of sterling service, I sought advice from various online reviewers and eventually chose the Panasonic NN-CT56JBBPQ, believing it to be almost without flaw. It would seem that I was mistaken. Setting the time requires holding the "1 hour" button while the hours tick up at a seemingly random rate, and if held just one pulse too long, it is impossible to wind the clock backwards — one has to start all over again. The exercise then has to be repeated with the "1 minute" button, or with a combination of the "10 minutes" and "1 minute" buttons. Then, if one notices that the time is slightly wrong, there is no possibility to adjust it — it has to be set from scratch all over again. The six power levels are (a) glossed by description rather than by power or by percentage, and are presented in what I regard as an illogical order : "high" (100%) / "defrost" (27%) / "medium" (60%)/ "low" (44%) / "simmer" (30%) / "warm" (10%), with "defrost" (27%) interpolated between "high" (100%) and "medium" (60%). Why ? And why select these arbitrary values, rather than allowing the far more obvious and intuitive sequence 100% / 90% ... 50% ... 20% / 10% ? From an ergonomic point of view, I am not impressed by the touch-sensitive controls — I far preferred the more reliable conventional push buttons (and dial) of my previous machine. The touch-sensitive controls seem more than a little arbitrary in the way that they respond to user pressure. And why is the interior light not a LED ? If the door is left open, the oven gets appreciably warm from the heat from the lamp; this seems a great waste of energy. In summary, I preferred my old previous machine — the Panasonic will do the job, but when it shuffles off this mortal coil I shall replace it with a model with conventional controls, a dial, and 10 power settings in monotonic decreasing sequence.

I do not like the fact that the fan continues to operate after the time is up. You don't hear the finished sound as the fan is quite load. The longer you use the microwave the longer the fan continues. Would change it if that was possible.

1st one sent out didnt work packaging look like it had been opened before

1st one sent out didnt work packaging look like it had been opened before. Contact AO via online chat and they tried to absolve responsibility on to the manufacture. I advised them my contract was with them not the manufacturer and requested they sort it out. I then received a phone call the next day and replacement the following day. It is a shame I had to feel upset by the online chat! All good in the end

    The whole package?

Whilst the microwave is great, the process of buying it was a nightmare! Promised deliveries delayed, ‘machine not loaded on the van’ all contributed to a very average experience - machine ***** but service *.

    New microwave

Works well and takes up less worktop space than previous model. Only negative is the unit slides easly when pressing the panel buttons, gripper feet would be nice.
