It’s Apple, you know what your getting.

Great new iPad, light in weight and so affordable - can't wait to give it to my partner for Christmas! It still has the lightening connector which is the only difference between this and the more expensive new ones but this is fine for us as all our apple products are still on the lightening cables.

Entry level but Great tablet , perfect size , lightweight and easy to use . It’s replaced an old one I had that slowed down due to constant updates by apple. I really like the apple operating system , it’s very easy to use compared to android tablets. It’s got double the storage and is a fair price if you just want to use it for basic needs like web browsing , email and video chat . I wouldn’t bother upgrading unless you have to . Finally the processor in this one feels so far much quicker , not sure if it’s because it’s new or better software. Overall I would recommend it but then there is little competition to Apple in this market .

Brilliant device for the price. Nothing comes close at this level. Same performance as an iPhone 11, you now get 64GB minimum and the front camera is miles better than last year.

Although Apple’s entry-level iPad hasn’t seen a design refresh in years, it also hasn't seen a price increase, and for £319.99, the ninth-generation iPad is a killer deal. It performs better than pricier Android competitors, has a nice display well-suited for work and play, and will receive OS updates for years to come. The 12MP front-facing camera and the addition of Center Stage are also welcome upgrades for people who are working (or just video chatting) from home. And while iPadOS 15 may not be a full-on replacement for macOS or Windows, it's Apple’s most capable tablet OS to date. That makes the base model iPad our Editors' Choice winner among Apple's current tablet lineup, as well as for sub £500 tablets in general.
