Built to a price rather than a design
3/5
An excellent price but this cooker is made to a price point and not to a design. The oven has a hot spot (middle shelf position to the left rear) where the temperature exceeds the setting by 20 degrees C but generally the oven operates at 20 degrees C below its setting. Not a problem as long as you know this and take it into account when setting oven temperature and the position of food in the oven.
The hob controls are discrete in that they are on settings 1 to 6 in six positions (1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6) and are not "continuous" (infinitely variable) between off and 6. This is Ok - you just need to learn what size ring to use for which pan/what cooking function.
All the knobs (hob, oven and grill) are difficult to turn, especially if you have wet hands. The knobs need more knurling on them to make them easier to grip.
Despite carefully unpacking the vast amount of polystyrene and tape holding it in, it took a good 6 hours on full blast before the smell of burning plastic dissipated from the oven. Something must have fallen into the fan housing of the oven.
I'm still reasonably happy with the cooker but will not buy a Beko cooker again. This model was made for AO. Perhaps other Beko cookers are an improvement over this item.
