    Superb machine

    5/5
Delighted with this new purchase which has been very straightforward to set up and transfer data from the previous desktop. Lightweight, fabulous screen, and processing capacity is excellent.

exceeds my expectations and runs faultlessly, great quality

    5/5
Probably the best laptop I've had in 30 years of owning them. Glad I bought this rather than the more expensive, smaller-screened, smaller-RAM Macbook Air. It has 1 TB hard drive and the Macbook I was considering as an alternative has only a quarter of that! Design is superb, high-quality and strong. Screen is amazingly bright and crisp. Yes, it overheats a lot at first when you have to set it up and download all the updates. I mean so hot in one part of the base that you can't even put your hand on it for more than a few seconds! After that, it settles down (with new firmware, etc.) and overheats only on intensive tasks, but I recommend going into settings and switching the fan to the setting "always on" or at least the setting "always on during intensive tasks", then it stays cool all the time. I haven't noticed loud fan noise as an issue, unlike what some people say. The keyboard is great to type on, whereas the Macbook is a horrible keyboard to type on. Everything seems better in comparison to Mac, but I know that's not an exact comparison. This Zenbook copes with everything I throw at it perfectly and has a lot of nice features. I've never owned ASUS before and was hoping I wouldn't regret it, but right out of the box the appearance and performance are very impressive. It exudes premium quality. After 4 weeks of intensive use 7 days a week, no issues have arisen. I never had a blue screen or freezing issue as some users have reported. The important thing is to install all the updates immediately. I feel I made a very good purchase and couldn't fit it anywhere cheaper than AO and I spent a long time searching for a better price. So, in summary, I spent several hundred quid less than I would have on a Macbook Air and still got 24 GB RAM and 1 TB hard drive and AMD Ryzen AI 9 processor and a full 16" screen, with a lot more ports than a Mac and better screen and keyboard. It's really a joy to use and I hope it will last as long as a Macbook.

Amazing AMD Ultrabook with a great OLED screen

    5/5
The laptop is very fast but the processor is modern and efficient enough that also has excellent battery life, the keyboard and the very big trackpad are great. Could have slightly more ports (an extra USB-A port would be great) however there is not a lot wrong with this. Because it is so thin and the processor wattage is so low it means there is throttling that limits the performance to lower than it theoretically should be. But it can still do basically anything you want to throw at it, short of heavy gaming or CAD or supercomputer tasks obviously. The main feature that I would note that almost sells this on its own is the amazing OLED screen which is the best I have seen on a laptop, it's the deep blacks combined with the vivid colours and the high refresh rate (120Hz) and low pixel response time. Added to that there are helpful tools in the my ASUS software program designed to extend the life of the panel and to prevent burn in which is the one main problem of OLEDs But overall it is an amazing thin and light/Ultrabook laptop that competes with MacBook Air 15 and Pro 16, Dell XPS 16, Samsung Galaxy Book Pro/Ultra 16 but for a much better price. It comes close to taking on a MacBook Pro 16 in both power and efficiency which is difficult for a windows x86 laptop. ASUS have made a very good laptop here that you can even game on if you want to, although that is not its primary purpose. But you can definitely get some real work done it like photo editing or spreadsheets or most office or multimedia tasks it will be capable of it

    Disappointing

    3/5
Had it for several weeks now. As an everyday use laptop it is probably the worst and slowest laptop I've ever had. Slower than my 4 year old hp i5 which was half the price. I wouldn't call it slow, just sluggish. Takes too long to do simple things. It freezes way too often. The touchpad also freezes and the pointer disappears. After trawling through asus help and youtube videos, neither of which offered a workable solution to the problem it turned out I have to disable and re-enable the touchpad in devices options (so I have to then connect an external mouse unless I want to tab there). The keypad alt options don't actually show up on the keypad clearly enough and you end up bobbing your head around to try and see where they are, or just guessing off memory. It has two usb type c ports but one will be taken up by the power cable as no seperate port for power. Battery life is good, touch screen is bright and colours are sharp. Not tried gaming on it. Overall, disappointing. I would not recommend and to be honest I'm wishing I still had my 4 year old hp despite it's hinge issues.
