The product is working out to be smashing. Far and away above the old gas cooker I had, it has a wide range of uses, from defrosting to baking/ cooking. I am very impressed.

My experience with buying from AO has always been very positive. The service is always efficient and the delivery excellent. We last purchased main electrical items in August 2019. Both developed faults and are now unusable. One of these items was the Stoves SEB602TCC single oven. On first impressions the oven looked great and we felt that it would cook well...until we tried to cook and the temperature seemed to be stuck at a high level. We had three engineer visits within the space of 6 months. Each time we were reassured it would be ok, but by February 2020 as Covid hit the oven stopped working AGAIN. Stoves sent a replacement which was a very positive move on the company's part. That replacement has lasted two years, experiencing faults in May this year. We haven't used the oven since. It has a five years parts warranty on it but when I contacted Stoves I was told that the callout charge would be over £130. As we have had such a bad experience with Stoves ovens we feel that it isn't wise to throw more money after bad. We shall be looking at another company. We did expect this oven to last longer than it has and are very disappointed. It'll mean that we have spent around £800 on ovens in the space of three years!

Great so far and so easy to use. Looks very smart too. Night and day compared to our old oven, actually cooks the food!

Within two weeks the oven's thermostat broke which meant it rocketed up to 300°C regardless of what you set it to. Stoves were very apologetic and accommodating and promised to have an engineer round within four (4) weeks. They did manage to reduce that a little after the I pointed out the inconvenience of not having an oven for a month. The engineer changed a circuit board and it worked fine ... for a month, and then it broke again with the same problem. A few more weeks of waiting for another engineer to change the circuit board, and it worked again ... until it didn't. Four times it's had the same problem now, and for the first six months I spent just as many weeks able to use it as I did unable to use it & waiting for an engineer. One engineer informed me he's regularly replacing parts on this model, and has visited the same customers multiple times. When it has been working it's still the worst oven I've ever used though. For example, To turn it on the oven to 200° takes eleven button presses - each with an annoying beep. The hot air vent is just below the buttons, so they can get dangerously hot. When the oven is on, the default display is of some arbitrary countdown of nine hours from when you turned it on ((it'll auto-shutoff after that period of time)). So if I set an alarm, I then need to press a button to see how long's left and then after a few seconds of displaying my alarm it switches back to showing me how long is left of this nine hour countdown. The most frustrating to use and infuriatingly unreliable device I've ever had the poor judgement to purchase. I've now been issued a replacement from a different manufacturer.

Bakes like a dream, cakes have all turned out well and so quick to heat up

I ordered both this Stoves oven and hob (see my review of that) and were fitted today. Needless to say they are both going back. In a word - awful! There are 2 major problems with oven. 1) The programmable display operates like an old mobile phone. ie totally unintuitive. For instance, the default function when you turn it on is the light bulb Hello? Instead of being able to jump from function to function, you have to stop it each time with pause button - strange. The LED display is shockingly dull. 2) Here’s the real problem though. The oven puts out hot air through a vent right below the touch pad, so this area gets so hot you’re likely to burn your fingers when operating it, or at least not want to hover about there. There was also a sticker on the glass door which was almost impossible to remove without leaving remnants of sticky stuff. Do yourself a favour, and don’t buy this on the strength of other reviews as I guarantee you will be hugely disappointed. I’ve bought loads of stuff from AO and have for the most part been very happy with my purchases. But this? It really is that bad.
